Decidedly average
First of all the connectivity is easy. We connected it via hdmi arc. The sound. Well unfortunately it sounds tinny at times, like there is no depth to the soundscape. We've tried adjusting the bass and treble etc along with the surround settings and it still sounds odd. The thing it does sound good on is movies. The subwoofer really kicks in and actually gives the movie a real boost. Would I recommend this. No. Not if you like depth and a good solid sound. My advice would be to spend a bit more money and get a better one.

The rear speakers are required to create cinema surround sound, but they can be switched off if not required. It's recommended to switch off the surround setting if not using, so that no parts of audio meant for the rear speakers, is missed.

I can advise that the Hisense AX5125H uses Bluetooth to wirelessly connect its subwoofer and rear satellite speakers to the main soundbar for true surround sound, eliminating long speaker cables, though these separate components still need their own power cords.

I can advise the following for: Hisense AX5125H 5.1.2Ch Sound Bar with Rear Speakers & Sub.
The rear speakers for the Hisense AX5125H connect wirelessly to the soundbar but need their own power supply. They do not have to be cabled back to the main soundbar, only plugged into a wall outlet to receive power.
