Samsung 55 Inch UE55DU8500KXXU Smart 4K UHD HDR LED TV would require an aerial for Live TV. If you are just using streaming apps, this would not be needed.

From the information we have available supplied by the manufacturer's user manual, I can confirm that the first items you will setup is the aerial and network connections on this Samsung 55 Inch UE55DU8500KXXU Smart 4K UHD HDR LED TV.
There is no warning stating that you have to connect the Wi-Fi / internet, if didn't you would have limited functionality to some of the features available on this TV.
