Great picture and sound.

A very likeable TV for the price, maybe the best.
Extremely satisfied with the image quality, for the price. The colours are bright, vibrant and accurate, the blacks are deep. I don't see the backlight ghost around bright objects in a dark scene, those scenes are anyways not common, unless you are watching a demo which promotes the OLED displays. 99.9% of content is not affected at all. The native contrast is on the higher side, which is one of the strength of the TV Only improvements I can think of are the viewing angles which are decent but not the best, the colours fade from oblique angles. Need to sit in the sweet spot for the best image. The inbuilt speakers are okay but I recommend a soundbar with subwoofer which lifts up the audio quite a bit, especially the low end. The menus can be improved but at least they are responsive. I highly recommend the TV for what it offers at its price.

Thoughts after six months
I bought this to replace an old, basic LED TV in the living room, mainly wanting something slightly bigger. In retrospect I should have gone for the 55 inch. Ideally I would have had something slim, as it is wall-mounted, and with good viewing angles, since we as a family cannot all view straight-on. But I also wanted good black levels and in this price range I had to compromise. This Hisense is much thicker than I'd like, and the drop-off in contrast and colour from wide angles is disappointing. Colour accuracy is also not great, and comparing with a basic Samsung unit in another room, I think that has an overall more natural and pleasing picture. There are plenty of modes and settings to adjust, though maybe some tools for calibration would help. Where this TV does excel is with the deep blacks, at least when viewed straight-on. Dark scenes have much more depth than on an edge-lit TV. It reaches decent brightness too, so is fine in a moderately bright room. We use it for general TV and movies, typically just HD, and some console gaming (Xbox Series S). 4K HDR material does look impressive. I use a soundbar but the sound from the TV meets expectations. The remote is simple but effective and the UI is reasonably responsive. No problems at all. All expected apps are available and work well. I was not specifically looking for a TV with Freely, but find that integration very useful and watch more live TV than I used to, since reception via aerial is poor where I live. Overall a decent TV for movies and gaming, with a good set of features for the money - would buy again for the contrast and gaming features it offers.
