Kitsch and full of features
Although the design on this model is very twee, it surprised me with its quality and features. Had a bit of trouble setting up with the first scan but that’s likely my positioning as I had no signal issues once moved around. Great sound for a single speaker and fully customisable with equaliser, music style and bass. Love that it can be used as a Bluetooth speaker too and portable with charge. You can adjust the backlight which is a nice bonus feature and Aux-in if anyone still uses that feature. Easily switch between DAB, FM, Bluetooth etc. nicely packaged and nice leather effect casing with Laura Ashley design. Knocked 1 star off due to the design being too specific meaning it won’t fit in nicely unless your interiors are similar, also had to faff a bit with positioning to get a full scan.

Not good
I bought this portable radio to replace a similar one that died after seven years of good service. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. First, the reception on DAB is poor even with the aerial up, and FM reception is even worse despite not having this problem previously. Second, the word 'portable'. Yes it is but it is not possible to buy the battery to make use of it. I have spoken to Argos and VQ, and searched online but the batteries are just not available. Because of these reasons I have returned it and am waiting for a refund

Tiny and attractive
This is so attractive and cute looking. I really like the vintage look and how compact it is. The sound quality is excellent, really clear. It is solidly put together and has Bluetooth so you can play your own music as well,it also has a jack for a 3.5mm cable on the back. Therr is the option for headphones too.The negatives i found there is no wheel to turn the volume up or down means repeatedly pressing a small button on the side of the screen until it gets to what you want and Buttons are quite fiddly at first but you do get used to them but can easily knock another instead if not concentrating. I've also had to spend extra on dedicated rechargeable batteries for this model as they are not included. The grab handle is perfect for easy moving around and with no indents or buttons on the top surface there is no messy dust build up.

Lovely! Adorable pattern too!
Such a cute radio , lovely detailing and pattern. Good sound quality on both dab and bluetooth . Easy to set up and a lovely size for on the shelf anywhere. The fabric/design is a really nice texture and it looks nice a sleek. The areil helps for radio but i think we will mainly use it for bluetooth.

Gorgeous, sleek radio
This radio is absolutely gorgeous. The Laura Ashley China Rose pattern is so pretty. The size is compact and it has a sturdy handle, making it easy to carry around. It was easy to set the radio stations. Only disadvantage is it doesn’t come with a rechargeable battery, so it needed to be near a power source before I ordered the battery. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant radio! Compact and full of life.
This beautiful little radio is perfect for any part of the home; comes in a wide range of colours. Sounds amazing even when connected to Spotify. The leather material can wipe off any splashes or dust it’s a very dynamic radio. I would potentially say it could have a higher volume but I think that’s personal preference to how I blast out my tunes. Everyone who sees it compliments me on the floral detail and vintage look.

Gorgeous floral radio
A gorgeous cute little radio. The floral pattern makes it a quirky and cute little addition to any room. It is easy to set up without instructions but the instructions are clear and concise. Easy to connect to Bluetooth so you are able to use as a speaker. Has a good sound even on low volume, can easily be transported for camping/caravaning

Great sound and looks neat
Was very pleased with the overall look and feel of the product. It’s very well made and of extremely high quality. It’s quite heavy so you’re able to press the buttons without the unit moving. The sound is very loud with a number of different preprogrammed sound states as well as being able to change the bass and treble. Very easy to use. Can be portable with the use of batteries (bought separately). Can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker. Overall super pleased with the item and would highly recommend.

Cutest DAB radio with every feature you will need
Amazing and cute little portable radio packet with features and has an adorable pattern! Lightweight for easy movement and has a carry handle which is a bonus! Stupidly easy to set up and comes with both a 3 prong and a 2 prong adapter which slot onto the plug so it can be used anywhere! Fantastic little piece of kit... i love it!!

From the information we have available supplied by the manufacturer, I can confirm this VQ Monty DAB/DAB+ Digital Home Radio requires a VQ battery.
The battery is a powerful lithium-ion battery delivers around 25hrs of listening time when fully charged, depending on what source you listen to and how loud the volume is.
The battery recharges when you reconnect the radio to the mains, so you don’t need to remove the battery to charge it.
We do not have these batteries in stock on the website at the moment.
