Not for the feint hearted
This Lego set is amazing but be warned. This is more like a pro level set than one for a child. The instruction booklet is more like a novel. The instructions are very clear considering how complex this build is. Plan several building hours in order to complete this. Unfortunately my child did not have the patience for this and it remains incomplete after several weeks. We will get to finish this on a rainy day and I’m sure the final toy will be well worth it, it looks incredible. There are many many tiny parts that require careful construction, and despite the clear guidance, it is easy to make a mistake. Only purchase this is you are an enthusiast or are willing to dedicate several hours to help Your child with this.

Absolutely awesome Lego set
If you are up for a challenge then this Lego set is for you. This has taken ages to put together but it was so worth it. Now whilst it’s aimed at ages 10+, it could be a little loo time consuming for those on the younger end. My 11 year old was enthusiastic for a while but kept coming back to it and it took over a week to put together. So if you are impatient adults would have to help. I must say this spaceship is huge! You will need plenty of shelf space to store it. It’s approximately 50cm x 45cm and stands at nearly 15cm high. There’s a few moving parts to it, the legs go up and down by turning little black wheels on the top. And there’s movable wing parts too by turning the little blue wheels on top. I will totally recommend this set to any Lego or spaceship enthusiasts, or to anyone who wants something to keep them busy for a while.

Space fans will love this kit!
This kit is great value for money. With over 1,300 pieces, including tiny pieces, it's a more challenging build but will provide a huge feeling of satisfaction when it is finished! It took my teenage son around 8 hours to build in total but the 286-page instruction manual shows every step in great detail so you can't go wrong. As well as the spaceship, there is also a cargo pod and space rover to build. The rover can be placed into the pod and then picked up by a claw that can be lowered under the spaceship. The top of the speceship forms a sort of handle so you can easily swoop it around the room. The engines on the sides rotate 360 degrees using gears, and you van also extend the landing gears. All in all, this is great for any space fans and will keep them busy for hours.

Great project for my boy!
I bought this for my 7 year old son, as he loves Lego. This one was more challenging, but great blocks to do. He loved it!!

Superb overall
A superb play set with the excellent grip and control features, while still being great for display with the other new Space sets. The build is fun with lots of the best ‘aha’ Technic moments. The amount of stickers drops the build experience by one star.

Impressive first Technic set
This is the first Technic set for my son (and I) to attempt and at time of review we've a long way to go! It's a step up from standard Lego with new pieces and concepts to learn. This set is HUGE and will take us a while. Definite quality though, well designed and presented. Also we're using the app which really helps understand the build and where things go. There's no minifigures with this, it's a more grown up build but my 11yr old is coping fine though you need to concentrate to get things placed right. It will look great when finished but will take time, it's not a rushed job with 1365 pieces. The finished piece will have moveable parts and a mini space rover and cargo piece will be fun.

Lego space fans will love this!
Brilliant fun Lego set to build. Spent a good few days building the set as a family. Pieces all fit together well and instructions are easy enough to follow. Bit fiddly at times with the smaller pieces but that added to the fun! Big model with lots of moving parts which are realistic and well thought out. Excellent set for a space fan. Would recommend set as we have had lots of fun making and playing with it.

Brilliantly engineered Lego set
Brilliant piece of engineering. So impressed with the connectivity of the moving parts on a skeletal frame 10 year olds could make this but may require help with the initial part of the build and strong fingers to insert some of the pins. All 10 stages are well documented if sometimes long winded! There were a few duplicate small bits in each stage (better than any missing ones) The kit comes with extra pieces to make a moon buggy and a crate for the pick up arms. The finished craft has the following mobility:- holding the spine of the craft; with one thumb:- you can deploy the 3 point landing gear and rotate the side engines using two adjacent wheels. Additionally; with a lever (situated between the previously mentioned wheels) You can also drop the lower pick up arms which engage with the additional crate.

Fantastic set
This Lego Technic set has been an absolute blast to put together. My 10 year old son has thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a challenging build for him, but he got there in the end, with little help. The rotating engines and landing gears have to be the highlight of the set. The landing gears can be deloyed and retracted, and the engines on either side can be rotated 360 degrees, simply by spinning the cogs. It's quite a big build and will look great in my sons bedroom, adding to his collection. There's also a mini space rover and a cargo pod, both of which can be lifted by the space ship using the extended claw. There are quite a few stickers to put onto the lego pieces, which helps to bring it to life. I would definitely recommend this set to all space enthusiasts. It would make a fabulous gift.
