Disappointed...
I was really hoping this would be great. Whilst the porous stone does absorb the water from your feet, it seems to attract every little hair, piece of fluff, dust, dirt..whatever might be floating around..so it's already looking dirty. Wouldn't buy again and will probably have to go back to a material mat soon if can't keep this clean.

Very pleasantly surprised
I had never heard of diatomite before, but had been searching for an alternative to a recently purchased bath mat that was too heavy when wet to spin in my washing machine. I have had the diatomite mat for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. It is very quick at absorbing water, and looks good in my bathroom. I wondered how I would feel about stepping onto a solid surface rather than a traditional bath mat, but I've found it comfortable underfoot. Very pleased.

Heavy mat
I bought this but it was heavier than I'd expected. I have arthritis in my fingers and was worried that it would slip out of my fingers and possibly fall on my toes. So I took it straight back. To be fair, I think lots of people wouldn't find it too heavy and it looked good quality but its not for me.

The supplier has advised the following for the Addis Functional Diatomite Quick Dry Bath Mat - White:
"The mat itself can hold up to 90kg/200lbs. It is incredibly strong and not overly brittle, although we would not recommend heavy impact to the mat, such as jumping etc.
The reason for its strength is that although it is composed of mainly diatomaceous earth, it has small quantities of other natural minerals, such as quartz, which when compressed into the mat shape, this makes the mat incredibly strong and suitable for use.
As for the lasting, the stone is naturally absorbent, so its life cycle depends on customer usage and maintenance. If the absorption performance looks to have slowed, we’d recommend sanding it with the sandpaper included to remove the top layer which may contain any coatings that may clog and restrict the mat’s ability to absorb the water."
