“ The WX4+ is designed for Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. It can operate on PC as an Xinput controller when connecting wired or wirelessly.
It is not supported on Mac. ”

Please check the manual as you will need to turn it on when in wireless mode. By default it is turned off to save battery life when used wireless, which is why you are seeing it when charging and it's turned on.
