About this product
The Aspley Small Double Ottoman Bed gives you a place to sleep and hidden storage space beneath. It's solid pine with an oak stain finish that brings natural warmth into your bedroom. The ottoman design lifts from the end, revealing a concealed compartment underneath where you can store spare bedding, seasonal clothes, or anything you want out of sight. Hidden grab handles make it easy to raise the frame without any awkward lifting. The base has sprung wooden slats that support your mattress and let air circulate.
The solid pine frame is sturdy enough for daily use, and the oak stain finish shows off the wood grain. The storage compartment sits beneath the slats, so nothing's wasted. The end-lift mechanism opens smoothly when you need access. It's a small double size that works in bedrooms where a full double feels too large. I love this bed, easy to put together. Just the extra space that was needed, so much fits in the space. However have removed one star as there are a few marks and dent on the bed that shouldn't be there when openingthe boxes.

Pre-drilled holes a problem, but it looks great!
Wanted a white wooden ottoman bed, and this fit the bill perfectly - until I tried to put it together! I guess you get what you pay for, as it was cheaper than many others. I built it straight after fitting IKEA wardrobes, which went together brilliantly and quite easily. The instructions on this were better, in fact REALLY good to follow - but the pre-drilled holes for dowel rods and screws just didn't match up on the separate pieces, and at one point, when I had to force two pieces together, a little split appeared in one of the sections of wood. However, it is in place now, and looks great. I am very happy with it (I just hope the wood doesn't split any more)!

Overall good quality. Though, the metal frame felt very hollow and light weight. Fitting instructions are clear. Not very difficult to put up the bed. The storage under bed is good, can fit large suitcases if the bottom panels are taken off and bags put on floor.

Apologies, no, the headboard is what hold the sides together as the legs of the headboard are connected fully to the bed. Unlike conventional headboards that just attached to a base.
