Excellent drone, easy to fly and operate
I bought this drone as a beginner and I was glad I did. The higher price is more than justified with the additional features and ease of operation. I watched a few YouTube videos to get the basics, but I was flying and making videos within 30 minutes. The drone is very stable in flight and the camera has gimbal mountings so also is very stable.

Good features BUT.....
As a unit that really only is to be used outdoors I was surprised to find how open the internal electronics were to the external environment. As a result of seeing one in use I've returned it as not fit for purpose in my case. Too easy to let moisture in and high humidity will also get at the circuits in time. I've seen output from this drone and it is good but in my coastal location it won't last. There are solutions and DSLR cameras have used these for a while so it's not as if DJI have to invent something new. I would also strongly recommend fitting a lanyard to the RC unit to keep it off the ground if you are setting things up.

Great drone
I had dji mini 3pro and I purchased dji mini 4 pro, it's faster and shoots better, the rc2 controller is much better seen in the sun π

DJI is Apple-level quality
I needed new ways to take video for work. DJI drones always came top of the recommended lists. I tried to get a Mini 3 Pro at first, but used DJI products get snapped up quick. So I splashed out for the 4 and itβs great. Great image quality and great control (though it takes some practice). And because it weighs under 250g I can use it anywhere. Side note: I also picked up a DJI Osmo Action 4, which has surpassed the GoPro in a lot of areas. My new favourite brand.

Poor service from DJI
Purchased this dron from Argos without any issues. Waited patiently for a clear day to fly the drone. After takeoff I started an automated process called Master Shots which is a feature of the drone, after a few seconds it dissapeared and crashed. Sent the drone to DJI care (this is a paid add on) which took 3 weeks to assess, they claim there is no issue with the drone despite providing the video feed showing the issue. After sales support is very poor, reading the forums seems many people have experienced the same issue - buyer beware.

Excellent
Does everything you could want from a small drone and more. If there a fault to be found itβs that the instruction videos could be slower in pace and more detailed. You will almost certainly want a other battery by the way!

Hey Maz,
I can advise that this drone has RTH (return to home). Setting it up is explained in the instruction manual.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Hello Ethan,
I can advise the following for the DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone with DJI RC 2:
Yes, this does.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hi Anna,
The DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone with DJI RC 2 has 58 minutes charging time for 34 minutes flying time.
Thank you for using Q&A
Max 34min
No. The more recent RCs with built in screens mean you do not need a phone at all. Your WiFi at home would be needed to get set up before you go fly, download updates and maps to the RC etc. You only need a phone - iPhone or Android - if you want to buy the drone with the older style RC N1 which has no screen, so you have to deal with the cradle life.
Hello Kelly,
I can advise the following for the DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone with DJI RC 2:
The phone app is required to do additional settings with the drone, the RC with video feed is just that, a feed.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Due to having a camera, despite your drone being under 250g, it has to be registered with the CAA and have an Operators ID.
Also, as from January 1st 2026 when the rules are changing, yes, you will also require a Pilots ID by taking an online theory test.
If the drone has any form of a camera fixed to it you NEED a licence to fly from CAA i have i drone with with a camera its NOT worth risking it GET your licenece its easy to get and cost 12 pounds if you pass the exam
Legally the drone needs to be registered and display an operator ID issued by the Civil Aviation Authority as it has a camera so the fact its a sub-250g drone is irrelevant.
httpsregister-drones.caa.co.ukindividual
you do need a operator license its 11.00 a year due to the camera
CAA rules apply because although it is under 250g, it has a camera.
If your drone has a camera or weighs 250g or more then you need to register with the CAA. You need to renew this registration every year.
Hi there,
I have looked in to this for you. Under 249 g, Regulation Friendly: Lightweight, operators will not be required to get a drone pilot certificate to fly the drone. So you can enjoy the fun of flying without the tedious application process and waiting time.
Thanks for using Q&A.
There are Apps that allow you to do this, look into drone mapping apps, some will even estimate price
Hello Paul,
I can advise the following for the DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone with DJI RC 2:
This doesn't have a measure built in, however if you use a clear reference sized item then you could estimate the size of the roof that way. Similar to placing a coin next to something to gain the size.
Thanks for using Q&A.
You could get a rough estimate by hovering with the camera pointing straight down using the camera grid center point aimed at one end then move to the other end and check the difference between each gps position but would really be upto a meter out accuracy wise
The small print
It is illegal to fly a drone or model aircraft between 250g-20kg that does not show a valid operator ID. You must pass the drone test and register with the CAA before you fly at https://register-drones.caa.co.uk. For further information visit: https://dronesafe.uk/
