It's built with a three-layer construction that includes a heat-reflecting foil, thermal lining and deeply filled quilted top layer, all trapping and retaining your body's natural warmth through the night. Really does feel warm from your body heat
This really does keep us warm. You can feel the warm areas where you’re lying compared to the rest of the topper. It’s not very thick, but does add some comfort, but its main use is the warmth. Loved it so much I bought another for our camper van.

Comfortable and works as intended
I bought this to replace a electric heated mattress topper that heated up nicely but wasn't particularly padded. My current mattress is not that great and I wanted to be able to add some padding and still stay warm. This does the job perfectly for a reasonable price. Sure, it's not as warm as a constantly heated electric topper, but it insulates very nicely with body warmth and costs nothing to use. It's also a soft and pleasant addition and I can no longer feel the springs of the mattress below me.

I needed a mattress topper and was intrigued by it using body heat to warm the bed, very impressed by softness of the topper and not sure if it gets warm as I have just dropped off to sleep straight away since using it! The Silentnight Heat Genie Self Heating Mattress Topper in the double size measures L193 x W137 cm. A small double bed typically measures L190 x W120 cm, so the double size topper would be too large for your mattress.

An electric blanket can be used but only underneath this topper. They also recommend turning it on a low heat once it's reached a high enough temperature. The topper is designed to reflect heat upwards.

“ An electric blanket may be used with this topper however it should be used with more care as the topper will reflect the heat back quicker than a standard topper therefore a reduce warm up time on high settings in recommended. The topper must be on the bottom and not on top of the electric blanket. ”
