Overall 8/10 score from me!
Overview: I bought this purifier and humidifier after my Dyson AM10 gave up the ghost and I’ve surprised myself with being rather impressed by it compared to the Dyson! Pros: Holds lots of water in the tank. The water tank is sealed so unlikely to leak (like the Dyson ended up doing) Gives out cold air - good in summer. Different fan speeds so can have it running really quietly in the background, or turn the speed up so it’s creating more air. Has a night-time function so it’s quiet. It has a rather nice light at the top which makes it look quite swish and you can change the colour of it, or switch it off. Nice digital display on the top. We have hard water in our area and the humidifier’s filters (there are two) stop that white mist that occurs with other humidifiers. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks so haven’t had to clean it yet, but the instructions sound as if it’s quite straightforward - just vacuum the top filter and wipe over the sensor, and soak the humidifier filter in diluted vinegar to keep the limescale at bay. The filters seem easy enough to come by. Has an app (doesn’t everything these days!) that you can control everything by, although I understand the unit can be operated without it. The unit will prompt you to clean or replace the filter and the app tells you how much time in percentage you have left before it needs cleaning or replacing. It has a child lock on it in case you don’t want children, pets or other people changing your settings. It has a timer function and a smart scheduler that you can set to come on before you wake up for, say, an hour before your bedtime to freshen the air up. It has a beep sound when you select different options but you can turn this off if you prefer. Cons: It’s quite large so you won’t necessarily want to move it room to room. Gives out cold draughty air which isn’t great when you are trying to humidify the room in winter as it makes the room colder. The air comes out of unit all the way round the sides. Personally, I would rather the air came out of the top so you don’t feel a draft in winter. In the summer of course, it’s probably a boon. Expensive replacement filters, currently just over £50 each year - which I think is expensive seeing as the unit is £310 in the first place. Whilst the app allows you to set your required humidity level, you can only set it in increments of 10%. I would have liked to have the option to set it at 55% humidity as I think this is the goldilocks of room humidity. Sadly, I can only set it to 50% as 60% is way too humid for a room.

Yes you can control this without using the app.
Thanks for using Q and A.
Humidifiers are designed to increase the amount of moisture in the air, so if you are looking to dry your washing with an appliance, then you will need a de-humidifier.
