Four and a half stars
I would like to have given four and a half stars but the option was 4 or 5. Positives. So much easier without a cord. Heats up quickly. Switches off automatically after 8 minutes of non use. Nice colour. Takes ordinary tap water. Glids over clothes easily. Negatives. The base has to be on a flat surface nearby. Most modern ironing boards have an open metal end which isn’t suitable. Slightly heavier than I thought it would be. The base ( charging station) needs wiping frequently as condensation from the steam collects when charging and this transfers as water spots onto the clothes. The negatives don’t outweigh the positives and I’m pleased with my purchase as it was reduced.

Lightweight & space saving iron
I bought this a few months ago to replace a steam iron with a steam water base tank which was not cordless. This iron is much lighter overall & very handy being cordless but does need to be replaced on its base frequently to heat up again. It takes much less space than my old iron which is a bonus. I'm very happy with my new purchase

I hate ironing this makes it slightly more palatable, if I was in charge of the world I’d ban ironing and it may save the use of energy so much that humankind will be saved from climate change. Iron works well and is better than older irons.

Not so good ,as it looks like
Bought this and used twice and started leaking.Fist trial was ok but Water tank was quick empty at first use needed to refill it a few times.It glides good over clothing but it became quickly cold after charge ,so had to put it many times on the charging dock.Steam ok but could be better.Its not as heavy to hold.Had to return this item esp due that it started leaking and didn't took risk to get same back.It held me back to rebuy this one again due that it is in need to get put on dock to charge many times and heat up again and then go cold very quickly.I prefer the direct plug in iron without it loosing its heat with long cable..I wouldn't recommend this iron.

We are unsure of your reference to the Kates one.
The Soleplate is ceramic coated on this product. The only reason you would burn material with this iron is you have not set the correct temperature for the type of material being ironed
