A laptop is recommended to have the following specifications to use with this controller and the Rekordbox software:

Yes you just download rekordbox which comes with the comtroller onto your laptop, you then copy your tunes from your laptop to rekordbox and then use rekordbox to bring your tunes onto the controller... Its really simple.
