Waste of money
I bought this a couple of days before Christmas and returned it 2 days after Christmas. I used normal common supermarket cut bread and it wouldn't fit in so I had to cut off all the crusts. The filling was a beaten egg, grated cheese and a some chopped tomato (normal basic toastie) and then I found the lid wouldn't close so I had to lean on the lid to cook the sandwich. No way could I have locked the lid and all the filling just oozed out all around the edges, what a mess! When I took it back Argos told me that it was a small sandwich maker (I didn't know there was such a thing and it certainly wasn't stated on the box) but after a while consented to refund me 'as a gesture of good will!'. Previous old Breville was built like a tank, lasted for years and produced wonderful toasties no matter the bread or the filling. This newer model just wasn't in the same category.

Plates are a reasonable size to fit most slices. very good seal on sandwich (minimal loss of fillings). easy to clean the plates, non stick but wouldn't chance using metal utensils - Overall great value

Hi there. The plates on this sandwich toaster are designed to accommodate standard UK bread slice sizes. However, bread slices measuring 13cm x 11cm may extend slightly beyond the edges of the plates. While this will not affect the toasting process, you might need to trim the bread slightly for a perfect seal and avoid spillage of fillings.

Small! Widthwise, a bit more than a standard loaf slice of bread turned on its side, and depth wise a bit less than a standard loaf of bread turned on its side(!!!) See my earlier comment - can nobody make a toaster that will take a proper slice of bread so that you can make a decent toasted butty, rather than the dolls-house portions that these things currently allow??

NO it doesn't ,. And. it won't even take normal size bread Best by. Small loaf. .I've only used once because of this factor...
