Good quality sound bar with subwoofer
I bought this product as it was within my budget of £200 while it was on offer. I've only had it less than a month as of this review, so I cannot comment on its longevity. So far so good. I connected it with the supplied hdmi cable which was a thick one if I might add, and followed the installation instructions. It was pretty simple. The sound and the bass was loud, only at 19 volume which goes upto 100. I don't think I'll take it past 50 otherwise the neighbours won't be happy. Yeah all in all, I'm pleased with it. The only gripe I have is the volume goes up and down in 3's, why I don't know, silly really but other than that it's quality.

Premium brand, plug and play, top quality sound
There are so many options when it comes to soundbars and for me it was a combination of price and a brand known for top quality audio systems. To start with, it looks great and was a doddle to set up as my TV had a HDMI/ARC socket. The Bluetooth and optical connections are also easy to configure; I connected our Blu-ray player through the optical input to give the option of playing cd's without having the TV on. The sound quality is stunning and never distorts even at extreme volume levels. The subwoofer adds all the punch you will ever need to movies, videos and music. There are enough options to tailor the sound to any situation, all available from the remote. Some of the options to control the sound are quite subtle so it pays to go a bit at a time so your ears can adjust to the changes you make. The subwoofer is wireless so can be hidden anywhere in the room and the manual tells you all you need to know about setup and operation. I was replacing a full surround sound system so I was prepared for some compromise in the stereo/ surround sound imaging and the very nature of a 2.1 set up means that there are always going to be some limitations in this area but this Denon system does not disappoint in anyway and my other half was very happy to say goodbye to the tangle of wires etc. of the previous setup.

Great system
I’ve always liked Denon ever since hearing the system back in the late 90’s. The clarity and base is amazing and still think it’s one of the best systems. Other than Bose I would buy Denon speakers..

Surround sound or not surround sound, that is the
When this thing works, it is totally astonishing. The width and depth a space this can give is truly unbelievable. You have to hear it to believe it, but then you'd be hunting the room for the hidden speakers; but there are none. I would have nothing but praise for the S316, except that it fails miserably because of its unreliability. You see, I've heard it working properly, I guess as Denon expect it to work...but...it's so unreliable. Yes, even in normal stereo it still sounds good, and I guess, many people who have an S316 haven't heard it working to it's full potential. Sometimes it delivers a truly cinematic experience, other times it doesn't...even when viewing exactly the same programme, DVD, blu-ray, off air, on catch-up, all makes no difference, and it's driving me nuts. I returned my new LG tv to the technical department from the retailer I bought it from...no fault found...I've replaced the S316 with another one, exactly the same defect. Sometimes full wide, beyond belief sound that is awesome, other times, just ordinary stereo sound. Why? I don't know, and neither do Denon or LG. Totally frustrated.

Fault or design flaw?
There was a delay on the optical input - this was evident when grouping with sonos products (one of which plugged into the optical input - so nothing to do with a timing mismatch between bar and tv). There was no way to fix this.

Awesome sound bar for the price
Great sound bar and woofer. Easy to set-up and interact with smart tv via the ARC HDMI slot. Movies, sport and music currently being validated, however no complaints from me.

You will be able to easily stream your favourite music directly from your smart device to your sound bar via Bluetooth.
Thanks for using Q&A.
If your Sky remote is paired to the TV and your TV has an HDMI ARC port to connect to the soundbar HDMI ARC port it will work from the Sky remote. Mine does.
Hi GS
You will need to refer to your Sky Remote instructions.
It is unlikely volume will be controlled by the remote.
