Preparing a vegetable bed, turning compost into tired soil, or clearing a patch for planting — none of it requires a petrol machine. The Hyundai HY40CT36 is a 40V cordless tiller powered by two 20V lithium-ion batteries.
The brushless motor drives four steel blades through a 35cm / 14" working width to a depth of up to 205mm. No fuel, no fumes, no cord to manage — just predictable, clean tilling whenever the soil conditions are right.
The Hyundai 20V Battery System
All tools in the Hyundai 20V cordless collection share the same battery platform. One battery works across every tool in the collection — so batteries you already own are ready to use straight away, and additional batteries charged for one tool are available for any other.
Several tools in the collection, including this one, run on two 20V batteries in series to deliver 40V. These dual-battery tools are part of the same system and use the same 20V batteries as the single-battery tools.
Always read the user manual before use and always follow the safety instructions. Always wear eye/hearing protection, long trousers, and non-slip boots. Clear the area of rocks, debris, and underground cables before starting, and keep bystanders at least 15m away. Hold the handlebars with both hands, walk at a steady pace, keep clear of the rotating tines, and do not use on slopes over 15°. Always stop the motor and remove the safety key before clearing jams, adjusting height, cleaning, or leaving the tiller unattended. Charge batteries in a well-ventilated area, wear gloves when handling tines, and never use water directly on the main housing.
