Great Awning
Only bought this just over a week ago, it’s up and looks great, I like the ease of use of the winder, so far it works well, was not as hard to put up as I had originally thought it would be, took a little while to drill the big holes.

Good value awning
We've been looking for shade for our garden and considered parasols, pergolas etc. Our garden is not huge and the parasol we looked at would have taken up a good chunk of space. Additionally, due to the sun path, getting real shade is a problem. We looked at awnings and did not want to spend a fortune as we knew there would be an issue with where the sun hit the patio. By chance we stumbled across this awning. Which seemed good value. So we thought we'd give it ago. Delivery was direct from the supplier and their comms were great and it arrived quicker than expected (7 days). The item is nice quality and I spent a long time studying the instructions and marking out where the brackets went. We put it up in less than 2 hours, I was taking my time, and we were impressed with its overall quality and sturdiness. It's not been used much due to the weather but when we do we always comment on what a great purchase it was. Less intrusive than a parasol. The only niggle and it is very, very minor is that despite adjustment it doesnt stay level when out, it goes out of true a little, but it isn't an issue for us. Overall we think its great value, good quality and easy to install..... but you do need 2 people.

The supplier has advised the following for the Greenhurst Grosvenor Garden Awning - 3m:
"The item is shower resistant, but not waterproof.
We would not recommend using the item in heavy wet weather as this can create a pool on the fabric and cause damage the item overall."

I would say no - it's certainly not intended to act as an umbrella but would probably be ok if caught in a light shower although I think it would need to dry off before being retracted.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Greenhurst Grosvenor Garden Awning - 3m: Our items are supplied with masonry bolts designed to go into brick work only.

The winding mechanism is fitted on the left hand (as looking) at the unit.
It cannot be moved.

The Greenhurst Grosvenor Garden Awning is only supplied in two widths; namely 3m and 3.5m wide. Whether this will fit over the back door may depend on how high it can be fitted above it, in the picture on the webpage, it does not seem to be a problem with French Doors and the awning is fitted quite tightly over the top of these doors.
