The Argos Home floor mat offers protection for your carpet from the everyday wear and tear caused by the wheels or feet of your office chair. Mat is too soft
too soft - the wheels of my hinomi chair are denting the mat and carpet. I'm 72kg so would not expect this.

Very disappointed
Bought this before and it's been fine but when I bought another one recently, the first one arrived cracked due to poor packaging and handling in delivery, and the second one is intact but riddled with ridges/grooves from front to back all the way across, and my chair still manages to make indentations after only a few hours of use. Returning and looking elsewhere

Good sturdy mat
A good size that gives free & smooth chair movement at an L-shaped desk. That is helped by the mat gripping the carpet well so you don’t have to drag it back into place every time you come back to the desk.

Protects carpet in home office
The mat covers a large area and doesn't move about which is great. Only downside is it can be difficult to roll the chair over it due to the grooves. Also beware that it is awkward to carry when collected due to large size.

A good quality item
Really solid mat, is delivered flat so it doesn't need to be unrolled or flattened, can just use it. A good thickness, chair moves easily over it, and it isn't hugely noticeable on the carpet. Delivery was excellent too.

Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Chair Mat is not recommended for use with underfloor heating. PVC can soften or warp when exposed to constant heat, and this may lead to discolouration, odours, or the mat wearing out more quickly. It can also act as an insulator, preventing heat from transferring efficiently into the room. In some cases, prolonged heat exposure can even cause the mat to stick to the floor or damage the flooring beneath it.
For underfloor heating, it’s best to choose a mat that is specifically labelled as heat-resistant or suitable for use with heated floors.

Not thick at all bur hard enough for a roller chair. The delivery comes in a flat box. So no uncomfortable irrritating straightening.

We have never had an issues with mould as there is not an air tight seal around the mat.

The supplier advises that it may not be suitable, saying: "We would recommend the other floor mat which is the hard floor version which is 916/7171, this would be better for vinyl floor, as the carpet floor mat would maybe leave some indentations in the vinyl."

The supplier has advised the following for the Argos Home Chair Mat:
"It may be difficult to cut this product with scissors or a Stanley knife, particularly if it is a gripper backed version for carpets. I would suggest a junior saw/hack saw option if scissors don’t work."

I would say this cannot be cut as it is really sturdy. Scissors would definitely not cut it.

no it doesn't. Also it moves about on the carpet a bit - I have to keep relocating it.

Not as such, but matt is not that thick (I do get up off chair to make rolling on easier). One thing though, in time is does discolor (sun light) and turn brittle (as in small cracks). However - I would not use an office chair on carpet/wooden floors without one. Before you order a similar one off the internet - most come "folded" which is a real nightmare (cannot remove the folds)! Argos one came rolled-up.
