A good quality item
Really solid mat, is delivered flat so it doesn't need to be unrolled or flattened, can just use it. A good thickness, chair moves easily over it, and it isn't hugely noticeable on the carpet. Delivery was excellent too.

Good quality mat
This was bought to enable my husband's office chair to glide easily and it works perfectly.

This chair mat is perfect.
I brought this mat for an elderly man who has problems moving his office chair on carpet. He had been usuing old carpet tiles to ease movement and protect the carpet. This is so much nicer. It is clear with a matt texture, so blends in with his carpet perfectly. Perfect size not too small or too big. Little grips that hold it in place to stop it moving. Easy to keep clean ( i can hoover the surface whilst hoovering) dont need to move it out of way. It is of good quality and a great price. Not at all flimsy. Would be great for office use or gamers everywhere who want ease of chair movement and protection of carpets from dents. Very pleased with purchase. Thankyou Argos.

Does the job
The mat is a good size, if a little too big for ease of carrying from the shop! Does the job well with the chair riding over it smoothly. Grips carpet well.

Grips the carpet well and lies nicely flat but my chair castors leave slight indentations which may get worse over time

Mat stays in place on the carpet, so works well. Helpful that it was delivered flat so no curves to try and flatten. To find how THICK the mat is it was necessary to go through Questions and Answers as this IMPORTANT information was not provided by Argos initially. Some mats are 2mm think and I would have preferred a 4mm thickness. Bizarre that information on mat thickness is not routinely provided alongside the size dimensions.

Great Product
Looked around for a while (Internet) for a PC chair mat. Found this one on Argos site, exact size, and good price. Ordered and arranged collection at my local Sainsburys store in Sedgefield the next day, Really pleased with product and the ease of the process.

Not Worth the Money and too soft.
Bought this for use with an office chair on a carpet. It came in a box that should have meant it was flat but it was curled up on one side so was a trip hazard. Also it is too soft so the wheels of the chair dug into it and the chair was difficult to move.

I bought this a month ago and it is great & comes flat, so no need to wait. Only wish I had known about this when carpet first laid. Wheels of chair would not have caused rucks in carpet but with this mat on top I can hardly see them.

Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Chair Mat is not recommended for use with underfloor heating. PVC can soften or warp when exposed to constant heat, and this may lead to discolouration, odours, or the mat wearing out more quickly. It can also act as an insulator, preventing heat from transferring efficiently into the room. In some cases, prolonged heat exposure can even cause the mat to stick to the floor or damage the flooring beneath it.
For underfloor heating, it’s best to choose a mat that is specifically labelled as heat-resistant or suitable for use with heated floors.

Not thick at all bur hard enough for a roller chair. The delivery comes in a flat box. So no uncomfortable irrritating straightening.

This can be used on a woollen carpet.
We have never had an issues with mould as there is not an air tight seal around the mat.

The supplier advises that it may not be suitable, saying: "We would recommend the other floor mat which is the hard floor version which is 916/7171, this would be better for vinyl floor, as the carpet floor mat would maybe leave some indentations in the vinyl."

The supplier has advised the following for the Argos Home Chair Mat:
"It may be difficult to cut this product with scissors or a Stanley knife, particularly if it is a gripper backed version for carpets. I would suggest a junior saw/hack saw option if scissors don’t work."

I would say this cannot be cut as it is really sturdy. Scissors would definitely not cut it.

no it doesn't. Also it moves about on the carpet a bit - I have to keep relocating it.

Not as such, but matt is not that thick (I do get up off chair to make rolling on easier). One thing though, in time is does discolor (sun light) and turn brittle (as in small cracks). However - I would not use an office chair on carpet/wooden floors without one. Before you order a similar one off the internet - most come "folded" which is a real nightmare (cannot remove the folds)! Argos one came rolled-up.
