A good floor protector
A good floor protector. After just having had new carpet put down I was keen to protect the floor my chair rollers. This does the job and is grippy so won’t budge and looks good on the floor.

Does the job well
This is a great carpet protector mat. It doesn’t slip or move and is rigid enough not to deform under the weight of the chair. Looks neat as well.

Exactly what we needed
We got a new carpet and it's quite thick we so wanted something to protect it from our office chairs. These mats do exactly what we need. They are transparent, thick and durable. What would have been long term indentations are now just temporary dents. The only minor issue is they tend to slip very gradually despite having the spikes underneath so every so often we have to reposition them. However - they feel high quality, they work and they look good.

Does the job
The mat is not fully tough; marks are left in the mat from chair wheels. However, the marks disappear after use. I beliive it does the job it is designed to do adequately. If you order, double check you have the right mat (hard floor or carpet) as the photos on the website are misleading. Check the text.description.

Very sturdy, doesn’t move
I bought this last week to put over my new carpet . It’s very sturdy and doesn’t move or curl up . The spikes underneath stop it from moving , but they don’t damage the carpet and it stops the wheels of my office chair damaging the carpet . Good buy !

Good, but for low pile carpet
I bought this 6 months ago, although if you have a thicker pile carpet and underlay, expect to need it replacing after 6 months due to it cracking under the weight of the chair and castors. On a positive note, chair moves across it nicely, it is a good size and protects the carpet well

Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Chair Mat is not recommended for use with underfloor heating. PVC can soften or warp when exposed to constant heat, and this may lead to discolouration, odours, or the mat wearing out more quickly. It can also act as an insulator, preventing heat from transferring efficiently into the room. In some cases, prolonged heat exposure can even cause the mat to stick to the floor or damage the flooring beneath it.
For underfloor heating, it’s best to choose a mat that is specifically labelled as heat-resistant or suitable for use with heated floors.

Not thick at all bur hard enough for a roller chair. The delivery comes in a flat box. So no uncomfortable irrritating straightening.

The supplier advises that it may not be suitable, saying: "We would recommend the other floor mat which is the hard floor version which is 916/7171, this would be better for vinyl floor, as the carpet floor mat would maybe leave some indentations in the vinyl."

I would say this cannot be cut as it is really sturdy. Scissors would definitely not cut it.
