About this product
The Argos Home Elmdon Comfort Double Divan Bed gives you a complete sleeping setup that keeps you comfortable while sorting out bedroom storage in one go. It's a medium-support mattress paired with a base that hides bedding, spare pillows, or seasonal clothes behind two sliding doors at the foot. The mattress uses a sprung interior with 288 coils that spread support evenly, while soft cushioning layers and a quilted cover add comfort where you need it. The base comes in two pieces for easier handling and sits on chrome feet that keep everything stable.
The mattress only needs regular rotation to maintain even wear, so there's no flipping involved. Sliding storage doors at the end give quick access without lifting the mattress or pulling out heavy drawers. The base provides a sturdy platform that supports the mattress reliably. It handles up to 203 kilogrammes across the double sleeping area. Minimal assembly required with two people recommended for setup. Comes with a manufacturer's one year guarantee.
The divan base perfectly complements the mattress, with its smart design, durability and practicality. While also providing extra storage behind the 2 sliding doors.

Not a bad short notice purchase!!
I purchased this bed a month ago for a small spare room in my house, and after reading the reviews. Delivery was on time, and one of the delivery men kindly helped me take it upstairs. Assembly was very easy and took 15mins. I tried it out - the mattress is very basic in that the springs give very little support, a bit of a roll when you move on it, but strangely is comfortable to lie on!! Two overnight family members slept on the bed and had no complaints. I will put a mattress topper on for added comfort. The divan drawers work well with lots of storage and are a good depth, but can keep opening at times by themselves as the runners have nothing to stop them doing so. This really is my only complaint. Fits lovely in the space provided and for what l need it for. Just need a headboard now. I would recommend this if you are on a budget, assembles easily, and if you need something at short notice like l did. Not sure how long it will last long term , but it is only to used as a guest bed.

Flimsy and made cheaply
Poorly made of the cheapest materials. One of the joints was opened up, had to reinforce with a woodscrew. OK for an occasional guest bed (why we bought it) but wouldn't last long in use every day.

Real value for your money!
This bed and mattress combo is excellent value for money. I have two more drawers now(both great sizes) which are easy to access and the runners are smooth. The mattress is sprung and of medium support which is just right for comfort and I think, durability. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone.

check the position to access the sliding storage
first bed delivered had a huge hole in the base, looked like it had been damaged in transit, quickly remedied with a call to customer service and a replacement sent without incident. Bed itself decent enough quality, but the sliding storage means the bed can only be positioned against a left hand wall as the headboard fixings are only on one end

It only fits onto one of the bases, but you can flip them round if required 180ª.

Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Elmdon Comfort Double End Slide Divan Bed - Grey castors and glides are for air circulation underneath the bed as well as ease of movement. It is possible to use the bed without them.
