About this product
The Elmdon Comfort Single Divan Bed gives you a place to rest properly after a long day. It's a complete set with a mattress and base that work together to support you through the night. The open coil mattress has 192 springs and a medium feel that sits somewhere between soft and firm, so you're supported without sinking too far. A deep-quilted damask cover adds a layer of cushioning on top. The mattress doesn't need turning, just rotate it regularly to even out wear. The divan base holds everything steady and splits into two pieces for easier delivery and setup.
The grey divan base includes two storage drawers built in, so you can keep spare bedding, pillows or out-of-season clothes tucked away without needing extra furniture. Chrome feet lift the base off the floor and add a clean finish. The drawers glide out smoothly when you need them. Minimal assembly required, two people recommended for setup. You can pair it with matching headboards from the Elmdon collection if you want to complete the look, sold separately. Comes with a one year manufacturer's guarantee.

Not a bad short notice purchase!!
I purchased this bed a month ago for a small spare room in my house, and after reading the reviews. Delivery was on time, and one of the delivery men kindly helped me take it upstairs. Assembly was very easy and took 15mins. I tried it out - the mattress is very basic in that the springs give very little support, a bit of a roll when you move on it, but strangely is comfortable to lie on!! Two overnight family members slept on the bed and had no complaints. I will put a mattress topper on for added comfort. The divan drawers work well with lots of storage and are a good depth, but can keep opening at times by themselves as the runners have nothing to stop them doing so. This really is my only complaint. Fits lovely in the space provided and for what l need it for. Just need a headboard now. I would recommend this if you are on a budget, assembles easily, and if you need something at short notice like l did. Not sure how long it will last long term , but it is only to used as a guest bed.

Flimsy and made cheaply
Poorly made of the cheapest materials. One of the joints was opened up, had to reinforce with a woodscrew. OK for an occasional guest bed (why we bought it) but wouldn't last long in use every day.

Real value for your money!
This bed and mattress combo is excellent value for money. I have two more drawers now(both great sizes) which are easy to access and the runners are smooth. The mattress is sprung and of medium support which is just right for comfort and I think, durability. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone.

check the position to access the sliding storage
first bed delivered had a huge hole in the base, looked like it had been damaged in transit, quickly remedied with a call to customer service and a replacement sent without incident. Bed itself decent enough quality, but the sliding storage means the bed can only be positioned against a left hand wall as the headboard fixings are only on one end

It only fits onto one of the bases, but you can flip them round if required 180ª.

Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Elmdon Comfort Double End Slide Divan Bed - Grey castors and glides are for air circulation underneath the bed as well as ease of movement. It is possible to use the bed without them.
