This product is designed to have this piece at the rear for extra stability, it is not advised to remove it.

Weight limit on bar catches and straps says 136kg per manufacturers instructions downloaded from Argos site. So staff answer is actually correct as both user weight limit and catches and strap limit is stated as 136kg.

Unfortunately the landmine peg can only accommodate 2'' Olympic weight plates.

A 7ft bar is the minimum that can be used with this rack, you could use 1'' or 2'' plates as long as the bar is 7ft but please be aware the landmine pegs can only be used with 2'' Olympic plates.
