I bought this last month. I’m certainly not very good at putting things like this together. However I found it really easy to assemble. I had to disassemble the shelving and this was also very easy. It’s made of plastic but it is stable when assembled and I would certainly recommend this product.

There is no taper to the tubes, they are all an identical size and are a constant width the full length of the tubes so could be cut to any size.
