Good set but the building would have been better modular. There are some good alternative builds for this kit online so it’s worth searching.

Box damaged
The box did not look new at all. It had been ripped in places and bent. The set was meant for a present, so the damaged box was a big disappointment. The content was all OK.

Great set to Build!
This set first caught my eye on the Lego website, then I saw it built up in store and knew I had to get it! I have to say, I've been building Lego for around 45 years now and this has been one of the most enjoyable sets I've built. I think it was the variety of the models I enjoyed most; my first ship was great and gave me a good sized model to begin with, there was a slight technical element to the crane which was fun, and the look and design of the rest of the set really appealed to me as well. I am now trying to work out if I can have a branch line running from my Christmas village to this set, and create a proper port area!

Highly Impressed!! A must have Lego Set!!
Wow!!! Highly Impressed with this Lego set! On first impression don’t be deceived with the size of the box… it is HUGE and jam packed with so many awesome features, you won’t be disappointed!! We have several Lego CITY sets and this is by far the most exciting and interactive. The ship is huge with has fab little features like an accessible engine, hatch doors, fishing box, the crane is sturdy and has moveable parts for lifting and moving cargo from ship to dock… also a cute restaurant with ice cream parlour on deck…There is so much attention to detail to encourage role play, you could literally play for hours and I can see my kids creating a mini movie series one day!! The guides are easy to follow and it is so fun and exciting watching it all come together!

Great Lego Set

much bigger and better than expected
looking at the picture on the box and you'd think there isn't much to it, but this set is huge!! the cargo ship is around 30cm long, the dock nearly twice this. So looking at the cargo ship, its designed so that you can fit both cargo crates onto the decking nice and snuggly. Theres a movable hatch on both the front and the back of the ship for playability. The dock itself has a little cafe selling ice cream. The stairs leading up to the top door has a little shower hidden behind, and the door and the windows open. Inside theres a little table and chair, and an oar and life vest. the other side of the dock is where you can lift and lower the cargo crates off the cargo boat, and pull onto the deck, again all moving parts. Also included in the set you get 6 figures, two little speedboats and a box that has 4 little fish in which is rather cute. and theres a fishing rod too. theres even a little crab, so the fisherman’s done well with his catch. The attention to detail on this set is quite impressive. My 11 year old sat and played for a while and even his 15 year old cousin had a good go, saying it was a really good set.

One of the best models yet
Ive been making lego models for over 35 years, and I have to say lego can still surprise and impress me. The crane for me and my children were by far the most impressive bit. Its so simple yet looks so realistic and works, that bit alone makes the set amazing and worth the purchase. I feel this set gives great value compared to alot of other sets, it includes the large boat, 8 lego men/ladies, 2 little boats, the shop, upstairs restaurant, fishing area, info area and the amazing crane with cargo crates. All that obviously uses alot of bricks so you really get your moneys worth. The bricks themselves have some really great detail, some walls in particular and the street light and there were some unique parts for me which adds to the fun, the effort and detail to build the engine that then gets hidden shows every bit has thought put into it. The set came in some much needed, improved packaging which used zero unnecessary plastic, all the bricks came in paper, great for the planet. Each bit of the build was seperated into simple to read/build books, given a number and the bricks were sorted into easy to find packs, it made it so much easier and quicker to build. This set will give hours of fun even after the build is complete.
