Great entry level machine
I bought this sewing machine a few weeks ago, as a replacement to my old one. It’s lightweight and relatively easy to use. The bottom bobbin needs to be fitted exactly as per instructions otherwise the cotton tangles up. It’s an entry level machine but is suitable for my needs which is mostly alterations and repairs. I’m sure it would be fine for dressmaking. Would recommend. It should be noted that there are a lot of plastic components, like the bottom bobbin cover.if you’re looking for something substantial or more metal janome is probably what you’re looking for.

Brother AE1700 Stitch Sewing Machine
Free motion embroidery is possible on this machine.
You will need the optional Free motion embroidery foot F005N (XC1948052) together with the darning plate included with the machine. After fitting both the foot and darning plate to the machine, select a straight stitch.
