The Birlea Rio Small Double Bed Frame gives you a solid foundation for restful sleep without taking over a smaller bedroom. It's built from solid pine with a smooth white washed finish that works well with both traditional and modern bedroom furniture. The slatted base provides firm, even support while allowing air to circulate underneath your mattress, helping keep things fresh night after night. There's enough space for two people to sleep comfortably without needing the footprint of a full double.
The sprung wooden slats flex slightly to follow your movements and distribute weight evenly across the frame. There's 26cm of space underneath, so you can reach under for cleaning or store flat items like suitcases. The frame supports up to 220kg in total, making it suitable for most sleeping arrangements. It arrives flat-packed with clear instructions, and assembly's straightforward with two people. Covered by a manufacturer's one year guarantee.

Looks great, but take care with the instructions!
Really pleased with the overall quality and look of the bed. I've taken a star off as you MUST check the bolts carefully. It all seemed well ordered and the instructions clear. Until we realised that two sets of different (that look almost identical) bolts are in the same pouch and the instructions told us to use the different sizes the wrong way round. Just make sure that you check which long bolts go through the half-moon fixings before you put them through the frame. After a bit of tearing our hair out we sussed it out and are happy with the result (I also like the addition of the handy Allen key ratchet)

Awful
Most disappointing big purchase I've ever made. They wouldn't allow my full review so, I will hazard this: The package arrived at my neighbours damaged, so much so that the instructions were ripped and I had to stick them back together. This is an extremely heavy package. There were parts missing from the bed which we had to wait extra time for to be sent. The construction of the bed is flimsy. You cannot move it around easily as it is essentially in parts that will disconnect. It is poorly finished, with splinters of wood poking out. There were no pilot holes drilled for the slats, all of the 48 screws must be screwed in by hand or you'll invalidate the guarantee. Not worth what I paid in the slightest.

We bought 2 of these beds, no notice of delivery, just arrived, both were terrible quality, goods arrived damaged, headboard warped, multiple emails to enable a return and still awaiting refund

Not worth the buy
Bought for my teen daughter. It's way too flimsy. The headboard is pointless being as thin as cardboard and so low it doesnt provide any kind of support.

Wooden slat broken after 2 weeks

Well made
Would be perfect but butterfly wing nuts do not go down 4or 5 threads on bolt. Just two,and rattles with gap. If you try to turn using wood frame to hold wing nut,it rips into wood. Changed all wing nuts for nut and bolts . That part is bad design,but bed and mattress very good.

Solid bed frame that looks great
Bought his for my daughter and the look and quality is great. The assembly definitely needs at least two people. We also found an issue with the sunken nuts - the wood near it is very thin and unfortunately this caused some damage when we tried to screw together. Nothing that some word glue can't sort!
