The Freesat box offers excellent picture and sound quality, easy setup, and significant savings compared to Sky. However, users report slow response times, a clunky remote, and occasional boot-up delays.

Swapped from Sky
Bought to replace sky q set up which had become v expensive. Pros Easy to set up Picture quality Pause/rewind tv/record just like Sky Can use with surround sound via optical No subscriptions Cons No disney or paramount apps Surround sound only truely seems to work on Netlix (havent logged into Prime yet) Box glows red on standby ( cant figure out how to turn this off) Boot up a little slow but still only 30 secs or so. Overall happy with it, def worth it compared to sky. Just a note, once switched on for first time, after a minute or so switch off and it will boot up to the latest version so all the apps work.

Very good
Realised we were paying Sky forty odd quid a month to watch channels we can watch for free so cancelled and bought this. Smaller than I expected and very easy to set up. Remote is a bit clunky and some buttons are too close to others but that has become easier with use and I could never find the search button on the Sky Q remote anyway. Picture and sound quality are excellent but if you're not happy with either you need to adjust them on the tv. It's very easy to record and play back and the quality of recorded programmes is as good as the live broadcast. Programme info could be better, giving dates of films release and lead actor for example. It needs turning completely off perhaps once a week and then takes a couple of minutes to reboot but that's easy to do and overall we're very happy with it, especially as it will pay for itself within six months.

Wonderfully easy to set up.
After moving to Falmouth we didnt have a tv ariel but had satellite cables. This freesat box is small and neat, it connected up easily and worked straightaway. It's easy to negotiate channels, record , rewind and pause. Very happy and would recommend it.

A good choice to replace Sky box
I recently bought this Freesat box to replace Sky HD box.The build quality is not brilliant but the box works as advertised. The set up was straight forward. The controls need getting used to.Sky was charging too much so after many years I stop subscribing to Sky.

Easy to use and great features
I purchased this a couple of weeks ago and found the initial installation and set up straight forward and easy to complete. The menu and guide is quick and easy to navigate allowing you to quickly search for what you would like to watch. The record function is simple, more than enough storage meaning you won't miss your favourite programmes. Overall I would highly recommend this product.

Freesat Box to replace a Sky Q Box
After many years using Sky Q, I became disillusioned with the inflation busting price hikes and lengthy negotiations to get a new deal. So I took the plunge and cancelled Sky and purchased the Freesat box, knowing it would pay for itself within six months. The box is very nicely packaged in a bright pink box with everything to get started. Installation was really easy, just unscrew the two satelite cables from Sky Q and screw back into Freesat. I have now been using the box for a month. Positive: - The picture quality is very good. - The Apps all work nicely, although no Disney+. - The record function works well, with good quality playback. Negative - The Box seems to take forever to boot up. When turning on it sits on a holding screen for anywhere between 30s to 1min. - It is also quite temperamental when switching from other TV inputs, the box can have an error when the screen has a heavy pink hue and no sound. This is resolved by power cycling the box, but its not ideal. - The whole UI is quite clunky and slow to respond to inputs. - The control is infra-red, so needs a perfect line of sight to the box. The box does feel like a massive step back in technology compared to the Sky Q experience. That has to be balanced by the huge savings not paying for a monthly Sky Q subscription. Overall I am pleased to have made the switch, but I am a little disappointed in how clunky the Freesat box is.

How many sattalite inputs does it have
Hello Shabs
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Freesat Recordable 1TB 4K TV Box: The box should work fine with your existing satellite dish. Using a universal LNB you should be able to watch one channel and record another (as long as you have 2 satellite cables) or alternatively you should be able to record 2 channels and either watch back a recording or watch content from the On Demand menu.
Thank you for using Q&A.
