At last! A wider set of scales
I had been looking for the new style ‘wide’ scale. A rectangle as opposed to a square. I have balance problems and always feel unsure on the square hence the search. So seeing this scale on the Argos website I felt it was what I was looking for. And it was, only better. Sturdy, stable, easy to turn on, clear viewing window, simple action to change from imperial to metric, it’s great. And as a bonus it’s got extra feet for use on carpet. A great buy.

Does NOT function correctly!
I paid £20 more for this item than a previous model from Salter, and expected MUCH better - but no! I am of an age where I still weigh in Stones/Pounds and Ounces; upon initial setup, (and multiple subsequent attempts), I ensured it was set at St/Lb. However, EVERY TIME that I use the scales, they have reset to Kg, so often, that I feel like throwing them through the bathroom window! Yet another problem is the Personal Program setting, whereby you insert all your personal details, like ages, height and sex, etc; this is then "supposed" to show all your body readings, like BMI, etc, but again, EVERY TIME that I try this, a message appears stating Error, and NEVER ONCE gives me my readings...I am furious I purchased this item, as it's USELESS! Worse still, my wife inadvertently disposed of the box and I can't return this item for a refund, so I am stuck with a £40+ unit that is substandard...obviously not a happy man. Unit is also big, heavy and bulky. Don't buy this rubbish!

Easy to use, Clear display.
We had a Tanita analysing scale before, admittedly an early example, but it was hard to use (to programme for each user) and only displayed one measurement at a time, in the end we used it only for weight. This is much more user friendly and displays all the measures (fat %. muscle %, water %, BMi, Skeleton Mass and BMR) at once. Easy to programme for each user and to find each users programme. It has three buttons where the Tanita did less more confusingly with about ten buttons. That said the base tech for measuring your fat% and muscle % from standing on the metal contacts is still quite flaky and the results (other than your weight and BMi, the later relying on data that you enter for each user) are not to be taken too seriously (the Tanita was as bad). But, it's good enough to tell a direction of travel. The Tanita stopped working at all after about 6 years, these replace it.
