Second hand goods!
I bought one about 2 weeks ago. When it came to set up somebody else's email was registered in it implying that it had been used. I took it back and was given a new one. When I set the next one up the same thing happened. This time I reset to factory settings because I didn't want to go back to the shop. This is not very good. You sell new merchandise not second hand. Not pleased.

Bought as replacement for Talktalk box which was playing up. Best features ate ability to record more programmes at one time, size of memory and ease of use. Also is a neat size and looks good.

Humax Aura !TB Freeview Play 4K Box
Bought this to replace my Humax HDR Fox T2. It has many more features such as multiple tuners built in Youtube, BBC iPlayer. It takes some time to work out all the features especially as the Handbook is minimal. Initially a bit overwhelmed but gradually get used to the features that I need. There are one or two bugs to be sorted, BBC iPlayer doesn't scale 4K broadcasts so you only get 2/3rds of the display, there are occasionally freezes requiring power off and restart. Appreciate the ability to download android apps such as VLC which allow me to play from my DNLR server

Some channels do not tune.
I should have read the reviews before. The unit does not tune into ITV, C4 or any of the other linked and +1 channels.

Great functions when they work
It's the second one of these that we bought and they do all the things that we want from them - offer on-demand TV, records and stores hundreds of programmes and can record up to 4 at once. However, they both have some annoying faults where things get stuck or functions don't always work. Software issues I assume. However, there is little or no competition that provides the same functions that I could find.

However, if you download the Aura App you can then stream live TV from your Aura box to a compatible Smartphone or Tablet, or even download your recordings to watch in another room or while on the go. If you enable the ftp server in the setup the HUMAX appears as a network share on your PC, you can then download the file onto your computer and transfer it to a USB stick. It is Standard def, not HD though.
