Each audiobook is a solid block, shaped and printed like a little book. A child simply places the block onto the player to start listening. There is nothing to configure: no wi-fi, no account, no screen, and no microphone, camera or adverts. From age three onwards, a child can work it entirely by themselves and choose what to listen to without needing an adult. The battery is long lasting and built in, recharging over the supplied USB-C cable, so there are no batteries to buy. More audiobooks are sold separately and work with the same player, so a collection can grow and change as interests develop. The player suits a child from three and keeps being used as they get older, making it a companion that travels through childhood rather than something quickly outgrown.
