Looks good - but read my notes please!
Purchased in an emergency following the death of my beloved Dualit kettle, which had served us well for over 10 years. Sadly they are now so expensive, that I plumped for this one. I like the aesthetics of the kettle but I do have a couple of complaints about it. 1) It takes way longer to boil than my old kettle 2) The water level window is at the back behind the handle, so when you are holding it to fill it, its hard to see the actual level of water. 3) The kettle wobbles significantly on the base when it comes to a very prolonged boil 4) Being plastic, the water doesn't stay hot for very long after boiling 5) The lid is both a good idea and a bad one too! Great that I can fill it through the lid without removing the lid. BUT, I removed the lid on arrival of the kettle to ensure there was nothing inside that needed removing and to fully empty the water after its first boil, before use. It would have been incredibly useful if there was mention of which way to put the lid back on properly within the instructions. There was not (not that I could find at any rate!) and there is a small slit on the lid. I popped the lid on, not for a minute thinking about where the slit was... I had put the lid on back to front, the slit needs to sit handle side. Because of this, when I went to pour the water out, the boiling water came through the top slit and had I not had my wits about me, could very well have caused a nasty accident. I know after all that you might think I hate the kettle....! I don't, it boils water and looks nice, thats fine for now, but I expected better from a renowned maker and as and when this goes to the great kettle graveyard in the sky, I won't hurry to buy this same model again...

Fab top fill kettle
had one, bought another. love the top fill on this kettle, thought I was going to hate it but it is a great feature. my hubby is a complete 'tea pot' with a giant mug of tea in hand so our kettles get a lot of use. This one is easy to use, and i love the white dimple style and lasted well - hope this one does too

Morphy Richards 108274 Hive Kettle - White 945/6662 I can advise that steam can escape from the easy fill hole at the top on the lid as well as the spout. This easy fill hole is a design feature of this item and therefore not able to be closed.

The base is 15.5cm diameter.
The base tapers in as it goes down, so the diameter of the top of the base is slightly bigger than the diameter of the bottom of the base. Bottom of base diameter 15cm.
