The sat nav does what it made to do. The only thing that is not clear is it needs to be linked to a phone for traffic reports.

I bought this to replace a very old Tom Tom, which was very dated. Easy to set up and connect to Bluetooth. It has already paid for itself after having to travel some distance and was used for many journeys. Very happy and at a very good price. Love the fact it includes free updates and can divert you if there is a problem ahead.

While newer TomTom devices like the GO Classic are designed for wireless updates, you can still update the maps on your computer using a USB cable and the MyDrive Connect application.
You just need a computer with an active internet connection

After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the TomTom GO Classic 5 Inch UK, ROI & Full Europe Sat Nav.
You can record a track while you drive, with or without a route planned.
To record a track, do the following:
1. In the Main Menu, select Start Recording. A red dot appears in the lower right-hand corner of the screen and initially flashes 3 times to show that you are now recording. The dot remains on the screen until you stop recording.
2. To stop recording, select Stop Recording in the Main Menu.
3. Enter a name for your track or you can leave it at the suggested date-time combination.
4. Select Add or Finished, depending on the device you are using. 5. Your track is saved in My Routes

“ Apologies, this doesn't support uploading gps files to the TomTom, but we are able to use a web based interface and then wirelessly load them onto the TomTom. ”
