Worst toaster I have ever used. Same bread, same setting, even the same time of day - every day the bread is toasted differently, some days burnt some days not toasted. The only consistent thing is that one side of the toast on the right hand slot slot is always burnt. Truely awful toaster.

Bought this in a hurry to replace a broken one.......wish I hadn't.......very awkward to use.....you need to fill the toaster from right to left otherwise it won't toast your bread......weird

Breville VTT786 would not be suitable for Warburtons bread, as the bread slots are 13āÆcm deep, which is not tall enough to toast a 15āÆcm slice fully. Model VTT981 remains the most suitable current model for Warburtons bread, as it features 15āÆcm deep slots designed specifically for tall slices.

While it is technically possible to use toastie bags in the VTT974 toaster, we do not recommend doing so. This practice is not in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the instruction manual, and using accessories not approved by the manufacturer may affect the safety and performance of the appliance.

Hi, no - the handle on the right, marked as 1, needs to be pulled down first for the one on the left, marked as 2, to work.

The heating elements are on both sides of the bread slot and both are in use when heating up. There is no possibility of toasting one side only.

BREAD SLOTS 1 AND 2
Always use bread slots 1 and 2 when toasting one or two slices of bread. The nr. 1 symbol above the loading handle indicates that this should be the first handle to be engaged.

BREAD SLOTS 3 AND 4
When toasting more than two slices of bread, use slots 3 and 4 in addition to slots 1 and 2. Lower the handle marked nr.1 first, then lower the handle marked nr.2 . Loading handle nr. 2 will not latch unless loading handle nr.1 is already in the latched position.
