This is my 2nd Bosch kettle the first one lasted more years than I can remember. Love the variable speed which I use a lot and the streamline lines. Easy to clean and fast boiling. Thoroughly recommend it.

Nice but lid breaks every time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've bought a few of these and the earlier models but the lid fails after a number of years (this last one is 6 years) Would hope for a 10 year lifespan, but no. That said, it's longer than the last Bosch kettle with was 3 years. Alas warranty is just 2 years, so think of it as expensive disposable - no green credentials from Bosch for this I'm afraid.

Great kettle, it's just if you want 90 degrees exactly, it's better to boil 100 and wait a bit. I use the 90 degrees setting for 80 degrees teas

Bosch TWK7203GB Sky Variable Temperature Kettle - Black:
This is designed for boiling water and should not taste of stainless steel. It does recommended on first use to fill the kettle with water and bring to the boil twice to clean it thoroughly. When the water comes to the boil for the first time, add a tablespoon of white vinegar. It is also recommended to regularly descale your kettle with vinegar or a commercially available descaling agent.
Filtering your water can also help alleviate any unpleasant tastes and decrease the build up of limescale increasing the lifetime of your kettle.
