I've had this kettle for about a month now. My old kettle was a classic that my grandad left me 7 years ago and it finally stopped working at around 13 years. Having had several kettles that gave up far quicker than I'd have liked, I was reluctant to get the same type as the one that died on me. After reading reviews I settled on this one, despite it being fancier than previous kettles. I'm so glad I did. This one pours smoothly, boils quietly and, while I thought the beep at boiling point would be irritating, it isn't - it's short, not too shrill and since this kettle has an electronic shut-off rather than mechanical, it doesn't boil for as long before shut off. This is a great kettle, fingers crossed it lasts as long as my grandad's!

Lovely kettle, looks good and I like that you don’t have to have the temperature fully hot, means you can drink a morning cup of tea before work when in a rush because it’s at the right temperature! So brilliant. Keeps water warm to if that’s what you want to do so I’m really pleased with it.

I bought this to make my favourite speciality drinks. It's quite a big kettle with the base. The base will take up more space than a conventional kettle. It's sturdy and is a quality product. Beeps when started and water boiled. Can be set to 5C increments between 70C and 100C. Fast boiling, nice refill-lip closing sensation. The only gripe is when wanting to pouring a little amount but more than expected comes out.

Bosch TWK7203GB Sky Variable Temperature Kettle - Black:
This is designed for boiling water and should not taste of stainless steel. It does recommended on first use to fill the kettle with water and bring to the boil twice to clean it thoroughly. When the water comes to the boil for the first time, add a tablespoon of white vinegar. It is also recommended to regularly descale your kettle with vinegar or a commercially available descaling agent.
Filtering your water can also help alleviate any unpleasant tastes and decrease the build up of limescale increasing the lifetime of your kettle.
