Could be better
The material and finish visually is really good and clean, just what I was looking for, something simple but not cheap-looking for our child’s bedroom but as it comes in 2 parts, it comes with a double-ended screw and piloted holes - this is where the problem was.. The screw is simply too short for such a length and gives zero stability before fixing with and to the brackets so be careful! The pilot holes were not centred when fixed, so ended up having to do my best making bigger holes to try centre them better, then use a custom joint fixing fixed it together with wood glue. Really not ideal and could’ve simply been avoided with accurate pilot holes and longer screw piece.

Brilliant quality and easy to fit
Brilliant quality and very easy to fit. End just slide on where I would have preferred a double ended screw, but I suppose I could drill a hole and fit one if they go loose ( or glue!)

Poor quality
Bought this 240cm curtain pole which comes as two pieces. Had to cut it to 230cm to fit and using the joining screw (which is too short for stable joint) I found that one side was bowed and affected the fit and look so had to bin it. Went to B&Q and was able to buy a 240cm one length pole which is great.

Nearly good but actually not
The 2 lengths of pole join via a groovy screw thing with threads going each way. Once assembled this joint is as weak as a kitten. Dont bother buying or be prepared to spend hours getting a decent joint.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Wooden Fixed Curtain Pole - 180cm: The wall plugs in the fitting bag are not suitable for plasterboard walls, you would need to change the wall plugs which are suitable for plasterboard.
