I bought this for a new tv in the bedroom. Unfortunately it did not fit the tv. In order to fit the tv it would have been sideways on the wall. However it did fit another TV that we were installing in a spare bedroom. It was easily installed and does the job well

I can advise that you can mount a TV on a plaster wall, but you must locate and anchor into the wooden studs behind the plaster or use special heavy-duty plasterboard fixings designed to distribute the weight. Mounting directly into the plaster alone is not safe, as it won't support the TV's weight, potentially leading to damage or accidents.
