Samsung 980 PCIe NVMe SSD
I bought this drive as an upgrade for a PC. To install the drive, a small screw is required but is not provided. It is such a small and inexpensive item but crucial for ths installation of the drive according to the manufacturer's instructions. I have tried to purchase such a missing screw but no-one seems to have one for sale.

Bought this to repair a 7 year old HP Spectre 360 laptop which crashed and on reboot would not recognise its hard drive. Old SSD drive was Samsung and checked compatibility of this new item with Samsung before purchase. Needed USB boot drive to complete installation after fitting. The supplier has advised the following for the Samsung 980 500GB PCle 3.0 NVMe SSD:
“ We can confirm that the Samsung 980 is compatible with the M.2 2280 slot on the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IHU6. However, please note that it will not operate at its maximum rated speed on this laptop. Due to hardware limitations, the drive will run at x2 speeds even when installed in the main x4 slot.
While the SSD will function normally and is fully supported, the performance will be limited compared to its potential maximum. We also recommend that you contact your laptop or motherboard manufacturer to confirm these specifications. ”

Apologies, no this isn't pre-installed. You will need to place this into another computer running an OS to allow you to install windows onto it.

This MacBook Pro uses a proprietary storage drive connector, and is therefore not compatible with common M.2 drives without the use of an adapter.
