The Kaycie Shorty Mid Sleeper gives you the fun of a raised bed at a height that feels safe for younger sleepers. It's made from solid wood, so the frame stays sturdy through bedtime stories, weekend lie-ins, and imaginative play. The space underneath opens up options, whether you want to tuck in a chest of drawers and shelves for clothes and toys, or let it become a cosy den for adventures. The ladder can go on either side to suit your room layout, and the bed height makes goodnight kisses easy.
The white finish fits with most bedroom styles, and the included safety rail gives reassurance at night. There's a wall fixing included to keep everything secure. The bed comes with a Habitat Kids Rae Comfort Open Coil Single Mattress, a foam-free design with 154 springs and a medium feel. The anti-allergy knit cover adds peace of mind, and it doesn't need turning. Suitable for ages six and over, with a maximum user weight of 120kg. Self-assembly required, two people recommended.

Great bed for our three year old. He's very happy with it and loves sleeping in it and playing underneath. The provided wall fixing didn't work for us due to the skirting board and so we purchased our own as it wouldn't have been safe without it. Marked down a point as the mattress is very soft. Hospital bed vibes.

Easy to build and looks nice. Can put the ladder either side, which I liked. It does say 6+ however my sensible 4 year old is just fine with it. The slats were a bit odd and all didn't reach end to end, so we had to improvise.

Value for money
Exactly what we needed for my daughter’s bedroom as it fits perfectly in the space. Seems pretty sturdy and has made the room look more appealing. Excellent value for money. Couple of marks on the wood and I suspect will mark pretty easily but to be expected for the price.

I was impressed with the matrasses as they were better than I expected. Photos didnt really do them justice. They tops were very well padded and springs seems sturdy. Obviously this style of mattress can't be flipped over.

I can confirm that this Argos Home Kaycie Shorty Mid Sleeper does not have a frame underneath so is not made for a mattress however it would be personal choice to place a mattress on the floor.

The supplier has advised the following for the Kaycie Shorty Mid Sleeper & Kids Mattress - White:
No, this bed would not be suitable. The supplier adds this further detail: “According to the EN 747 safety standards are beds with bed base above 60cm from the floor only for children 6+”.
They do add that the use of a safety bar is probably technically possible and, depending on its size and design, could potentially help prevent a child from falling out. However, there would be other safety considerations that would very likely more than outweight the gains made from the use of such a feature.
There is the risk that the bar itself could cause an issue or be an injury risk if fitted to the bed, e.g. if the child woke up during the night and stood on the bed or got tangled up with the bar when trying to get round it or over it to get down the ladder.
We'd also point you back to the underlying matter, that this bed is not suitable for someone who's 3-4 years old and we'd advise this regardless of any added safety features. This bed is designed for use as it is and for a child of an age where it would be safe and suitable.

“ There is not supplied cover caps for the 15mm bolt and screw heads, as they easily are pilled of and can be swallowed by younger siblings. Cover caps for extra holes are supplied, as they are hard to pull out. ”
