About this product
Up up and away! The Kaycie midsleeper is a lovely bed for little ones (recommended for 6 years +) who want all the fun of a high bed without the height. Made from solid wood, it's strong and sturdy. Make a den underneath for fun and adventure, or use the space for a chest of drawers and shelves to store clothes, books and toys. A great space-saving choice for small rooms, this bed is also just the right height for a kiss goodnight. The ladder can be positioned on either side to suit your space.
Comes with Habitat Kids Rae Comfort Open Coil Single Mattress a foam free open coil mattress that doesn't need turning. It is soft and supportive for a good night's sleep, and also has a smooth anti allergy knit cover for peace of mind.

Great kids mid sleeper
Great kids bed, pretty easy to build. Would've been even easier if screws and bed parts would've been numbered but we did managed quite easily to work out which pieces were needed. Otherwise really pleased with it

Perfect for a small space!
My 7 year old daughter loves this, perfect for our box room. It gives her more space to play and store toys etc. It was a bit tricky to build in the space as her room is so small and the screws are massive so needed to use clever ideas instead of the Allen key.

Good budget bed for kids
It took a few hours to put together at a slow pace, double checking I did things correctly so it didn't end up looking like a wardrobe or canoe. The end result was worth it. My 7 year old girl was delighted with it. It's snug, stable and very comfy. I did catch her bouncing on it which I stopped immediately because the bed didn't look like it could handle too much of that. I told her to treat it nicely if she wants to keep it. She loves going under the bed which she's turned into a little den with some fairly lights. I do recommend this bed and mattress, the price is excellent given how expensive so many similar beds are from elswhere. Thank you Argos!

Great bed but…
I bought this Bed for a growing 5 and a half year old as he was getting too tall for his toddler bed and has asked for a bunk bed. For safety reasons we opted for a mid sleeper. It’s been a great space saver with his room not being overly big, it’s given a good amount of floor space and also a great place for makings dens with blankets etc but the bed itself wasn’t as easy as all the other reviews claim to put together we had 2 of us and it easily took almost 3 hours. There is also no guide for the slats except measuring them between each other which could have been pre marked to make life easier. The Alan key given to put the bed together rounded off very quickly and also seemed like it didn’t properly fit and kept falling off numerous times. Overall once the bed was up it’s a nice looking mid sleeper bunk that my LO absolutely loves. We opted for no slide due to space and my LO being so tall it wouldn’t have been worth it. The mattresses it comes with is what you would expect it’s not amazing but it’s also not bad and will definitely do for a few years, I’ve had no complaints from my LO. However I am sceptical whether this is a full size single. The sheets I bought for it are single but they have lots of excess material and also the single duvet is wider than the bed. Length was a big issue with my LO’s last bed and although this one is longer it’s not a huge difference. The bed is a bit squeaky at first while all the fixtures are really tight and it is a bit wobbly so if you can I would suggest attaching to a wall.

Good
Brought the bed and matress set for my 4 year old daughter who loves it and is sleeping so much better than in her cot bed. In my opinion the mattress isn't the comfiest, and the bed doesn't feel all that stable. I'm scared if she jumped on it the leg would snap! We have added extra support under the bed (bookcase / shelves) which seem to have helped make it more sturdy. Bed does look lovely though, and is a great size if you don't have the room for a single bed

Hello Georgia,

Hello Joelle,
The supplier has advised the following for the Kaycie Shorty Mid Sleeper & Kids Mattress - White:
No, this bed would not be suitable. The supplier adds this further detail: “According to the EN 747 safety standards are beds with bed base above 60cm from the floor only for children 6+”.
They do add that the use of a safety bar is probably technically possible and, depending on its size and design, could potentially help prevent a child from falling out. However, there would be other safety considerations that would very likely more than outweight the gains made from the use of such a feature.
There is the risk that the bar itself could cause an issue or be an injury risk if fitted to the bed, e.g. if the child woke up during the night and stood on the bed or got tangled up with the bar when trying to get round it or over it to get down the ladder.
We'd also point you back to the underlying matter, that this bed is not suitable for someone who's 3-4 years old and we'd advise this regardless of any added safety features. This bed is designed for use as it is and for a child of an age where it would be safe and suitable.
