Johnstone's Bathroom Emulsion is formulated to withstand moisture and stains, providing durable protection in areas of high condensation. This low odour formulation dries to a subtle Mid Sheen finish to create a stylish look to your room. For use on interior walls and ceilings. Product Features: moisture resisting. Covers approx. 12m2/Ltr. Touch dry: 1-2 hours. Allow 3-4 hours between coats.

Dilute 1st Coat
I painted a bathroom in a 2 year old house with builder’s paint on the walls - the type that comes off on a cloth when you wipe it! The tin advises diluting the paint for a first coat and I didn’t read this initially and can confirm that would have been a good idea. Without dilution the rollering of paint leaves fixed roller marks. The paint is too viscous and fast drying to spread it. Perhaps if it had been diluted it would have been more easily spread so that rollering lines could be merged as the paint is pushed around more. Bottom line is I had to give it a second coat and buy another tin.

Quality Paint with a Subtle Sheen
I used Johnston’s Bathroom Paint on the ceilings and coving in my bathroom and hallway and was really impressed. It went on smoothly with no roller lines, has a nice subtle sheen, and was very easy to apply. The built-in stain and moisture protection makes it ideal for bathrooms, and the finish looks fresh and durable. Highly recommended.

"Regarding applying the bathroom paint to plastic, I can tell you we don’t recommend using this product on plastic. I can also add, unfortunately, we don’t have a primer I recommend for plastic within all our range."

It's probably not really suited to most cellars, unless they're already done out akin to the main rooms of the house, plus sealed and damp proofed. It's formulated for use on indoor wall and is intended to withstand moisture and stains, providing durable protection in areas of high condensation. It is also moisture resisting.
For a cellar you'd very likely really need a paint that can work directly on damp walls and, if necessary, one that also acts as a primer/sealer for a finish coat on top.
