This update of the AT-LP120USBHC turntable features a new DC servo direct-drive motor, along with adjustable dynamic anti-skate control and selectable phono preamplifier. The fully manual turntable plays 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM records.

good quality turntable to slot in with my existing hi fi had to you tube it set up stylus for peace of mind as instructions weren’t great but worth it in the end great piece of kit!

As always Argos delivered safely and on time, was excited been without a turntable for 5 years and now I know why I missed one talk about meeting an old friend, was a bit rusty so did take time to set up, but like all things take your time and it will reward you, to me listening to vinyl is so rewarding like your favourite slippers so comfortable, the turntable is good if a little plastic but when set up it sounds really good will up the styles next but the one supplied is still good, but for money I don't think you can go wrong, just a shout out to AT why don't you do the Bluetooth version in silver.

I wanted to upgrade from a budget-level turntable to something a little more "pro" but without taking on the huge expense of a full on professional turntable and from the reviews I had read this particular model was deemed to be one of the best within its price bracket. I have to say that on first impressions I am not disappointed. It looks good, sounds great (I have it hooked up to Edifier speakers) and is fairly simple to set up. There is no "guesswork" in working out the anti-skid setting and counter-weight settings as these are stated in the users manual. Best of all the turntable is direct drive which is VERY RARE for a turntable in this price range. If you are not quite ready to spend £500+ on a top of the range turntable but want something that gives you the quality you want from your beloved vinyl I dont think you can go too far wrong here!

Good design from Audio Technica although some features may not be used by me. Paid a little extra from Argos but worth it to be able to collect it locally. I was pleased with the quality of sound and the build. Recommended.

You would need a special stylus - a 3 mil stylus - available from Amazon - a VM95SP, for playing 78rpm shellac or durium records. Vinyl microgroove 78s can be played with the regular stylus.

Body and lid are both plastic. The turntable itself is turned from aluminium. This is a quality item, well worth the cost.

Thanks for your query about the Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSBSV Direct-Drive Record Player.
This is the turntable only so you'd need to purchase speakers separately. It has no Bluetooth connectivity so it would need to be wired speakers.
You can use powered speakers or passive ones through an external amp. These can be connected via the Phono connections (red and white cables).
