Customers Say
These LR1 batteries are praised for their availability, reasonable price, and reliable performance in clocks and other devices, though some concern exists about the one-year expiry on packs of two.

Good choice of battery types
Have an expensive clock that's over 30 years old & it is getting very hard to find these particular batteries on the high street so very pleased to find them in Argos for the reasonable price of 2 for £5

Check expiry date!
Disappointed frankly. The batteries had only one year to expiry (2027). I needed them for a well loved Parian clock. They came in a pack of 2 batteries, one of which we used immediately; it worked perfectly and we expect it to last for 1 year. By next year (2027) however, the battery expiry date will have been reached for the second battery and I do not feel confident that by that time, the 2nd battery we have paid for will be truly viable.

Clock battery required - Argos to the rescue!
Who would have thought a "LR 1" battery would be difficult to find? It would generally be used in some old clocks. I needed one and Argos was the only store locally that had them in stock.

Necessary
My clock needed this strange battery - so I had to buy. It is available elsewhere at other prices but I needed it NOW! Pity it only comes in a two-pack.
