About this product
The Habitat Orton Superking Ottoman Bed gives you somewhere comfortable to sleep and hidden storage for spare bedding and seasonal bits. It's a superking frame upholstered in a soft oatmeal linen-look fabric. The gently curved wave headboard adds some shape without being too fussy. Sprung wooden slats sit under your mattress to give it support and let air flow through, that keeps things fresh underneath.
The end lift opens from the foot of the bed, so you can get to the storage space without moving anything around. There's 990L of space in there for duvets, pillows, extra sheets, or anything you want tucked out of sight. The slats spread the weight evenly across the base. It sits close to the floor with just 1.5cm underneath, so you won't lose things under there. The frame supports up to 220kg total weight. Assembly needs two people, all the fixings and instructions are included. Covered by a one-year guarantee.

Excellent value for money
I bought this last month and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Well packaged and delivered to the location of my choice. Relatively easy to assemble by two persons, both female in my case, with clear instructions. Two of the furniture bolts supplied were 15mm too short. But replacements were easy and inexpensive to obtain, so didn't resort to Argos replacement parts. Took us a couple of hours to assemble but we took it one step at a time. Very pleased with the quality of construction and finish, and the storage capacity. For the price, I consider this bed frame to be excellent value for money. I have matched it with a pocket sprung mattress and find it very comfortable. True to illustration and looks good in the bedroom. Good communication for delivery time and friendly operatives. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Beautiful shape
Really beautiful bed for the money. The shape of the headboard is perfect. Large under bed storage. It does only have a piece of fabric for the base rather than hardboard like other ottomans. I actually prefer this as you don’t have to use it and that means you can hoover when needed under the bed. The other thing we did when putting the bed together was fixing in place the pistons before adding the slates. Just got to remember that the pistons don’t go down unless the mattress is on. So stand inside the frame push down on the end and that will counterbalance and the pistons will go down ready to put the slates on. Hope that makes sense and helps.

I'm really happy with this bedframe. The storage under it is really spacious. I did have some difficulties with putting it together, but I managed in the end. Would definitely recommend everyone.

We bought this a couple of months ago and all works as intended. Easy to assemble; however lifting up the bed frame with a mattress takes a bit of physical effort.

The supplier has advised the following for the Habitat Orton Superking End Lift Ottoman Bed - Natural.
This ottoman bed has a piston mechanism to raise and lower the bed. The mattress needs to be in place for the mechanism to operate. It is a manual system that needs to be pulled down to lower the bed and is not designed to drop down quickly.
The maximum weight for a Super King mattress is 80 kg.

Once built the gas lifts can be quite hard to pull down.
Presuming the item is built correctly you can use 2 hands spread apart on either end of the open end and pull down.

The distance from the metal support frame to the siderail top is 4cm. The 27cm depth mattress should be fine. (Please note the maximum weight of the mattress should not exceed 60kgs).
