Great Bed - - Eventually?
The Two Halves of the Small Double bed were delivered as stated on the order acknowledgement. GREAT. . . . However, only 2 out of 8 castors (4 per Half Bed) were easily fitted - the remaining six castors could not be fitted straight away because all of the six castor positions had wood (from the Bed Frame) blocking / stopping the Castor Pins from fitting all the way through the castors fixture. All six holes were eventually cleared a few hours later - by using a 5mm drill through the 6 0ff Castor fixtures and through the blocks of wood stopping the remaining 6 Castor Pins from fitting correctly. I can advise that the Bed and Mattress are very comfortable - just a pity about lack of assembly detail by the manufacturer etc . .

Poor Quality Base
The mattress of this divan is fair and looks quite nice. The problem is the base - it is of very poor quality, almost like cardboard with just 2 little plastic clips to hold the 2 parts together. I'm not expecting it to last very long even with a very light person sleeping on it.

OK but replacing after 2 years
On arrival it seemed to fit our purpose. The headboard is perfect, not too big so doesn't take up half your wall. The base has separated many times with the plastic clips pinging off. The bed itself isn't very tall, so perfect for little legs. The mattress OK for lightweight users like children but not comfy for adults. This wasn't a hugely expensive bed and we've had some use out of it so it's not all bad, but we're replacing after just 2 years.

Very poor quality
The bed arrived with indentation in the one end, Very poor quality could not attach caster wheels because pilot holes had wood in the way. also a damp smell lingering for 48hrs after assembly.

Bed doesn't come like advertised.
Bed advertised in picture looks like it comes with matching headboard. This is misleading as on delivery you realise it doesn't and you need to purchase headboard seperately which makes the deal a lot lest attractive when looking for a budget bed.

After having a nightmare with an online only company who delivered half a divan and couldn't promise a firm delivery date for the second half before Christmas ( when it was needed), we cancelled. After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Elmdon Memory Small Double 4 Drawer Divan - Grey: Hypoallergenic is a generic description but is often used to describe treatments or additives which are designed to help protect against common allergens.
There is nothing in the construction of the product and no treatments are applied which are intended to combat allergies.
