Somehow, two different ones don't work
I bought these about a week ago. I tried the E14 bulbs they are supposed to go with as per the description. Nothing turned on. I then tried the bulbs they're suggested to go with. Nothing turned on. I tried the different bulbs, different sockets, I've had enough, I don't think it's supposed to be this hard to put a bulb in a lamp to then have it turn on. I must've somehow got two defective lamps and that's why they're on sale. Don't know how everyone else's worked. Such a shame because they're such cute colours and the basic design I was after and great price! I plan to go in for a refund on the lot, what a waste of time.

BEWARE
I have bought pair of these table lamps to go on cabinets either side of my bed. I am pleased with the size and general appearance of the items, although they are not white, as described, but have a pale pinky cream hue. The inside material of the shade is white, showing an obvious contrast. Furthermore, when I plugged in one of the lamps and switched it on, there was a bright flash from the bulb and then.........nothing. Having bought two of the items, I was able to interchange bulbs to attempt to determine the cause. I traced it to the switch and after operating it several times (while disconnected from the the power supply!) the fault appeared to clear. I have been reluctant to use either light after this and will keep under review. Fortunately, the plug is fused.

It uses a single E14 small edison screw LED bulb up to 6 watts, so you can pick the right brightness for your needs. It's not sold specifically as a reading lamp though and the brightness would depend on factors like your chosen bulb wattage (up to that 6 watt maximum) and the distance it is away from the place you'd be reading.

"Either bulb shape can be used although a candle bulb may be more visible at the top of the lamp as they tend to be taller."
