Bought this and was surprised how good it is for a basic smart tv. Its 50 inch fire tv and its ui is sooo much faster than googles tcl televisions of which i have a 65 inch one. Its 60hz without 120 or 144hz booster for gaming but in all honesty that doesnt make any difference it just drops the image quality.

TCL not worth the money
The picture quality is not so good compared to other models on the market with the same price banding. The sound quality is good but can’t get Freeplay without an arial, other models can get Freeplay without a house Ariel, picture vibrancy is poor, resolution is poor, contrast and brightness is good and connectivity is good via wifi not too satisfactory overall. Opt for other makes like Samsung, Hisense or LG, OLEDs and QLEDs are over rated and not worth the prices.

Bought this TV to replace a 4 year old JVC TV that stopped working. This TV has excellent features and the images on screen are so life like it is scary. Sound is amazing, and overall the TV is good quality and bought at a very good price. I would recommend TCL TV's to anyone now, especially the QLED ones.

Excellent quality tv - performs well - easy to use
Have been tracking this model for some time after having a fire stick added to our aging LG tv. We already had a tcl 32” fire tv in the bedroom and I was pleased with the quality, ease of set up and navigation and programme availability. The 50” is 4k and is perfect for our lounge. It is important to have a strong and stable internet connection- we had FFTP recently installed so it was just right. We added a tcl soundbar connected via arc HDMI which makes a good sound even better. We also have sky hd and sports package which also works seamlessly when required. Very pleased with this purchase and good service from Argos.

Yes. It has a built-in DVB-T/T2 tuner for Freeview, so you can connect a standard TV aerial directly and watch free-to-air channels. Just plug in the aerial and run a channel scan in the settings.

It is unlikely that the TCL 50 inch TV will have the xbox app directly installed. Currently, the Xbox app for streaming games is only officially supported on select LG TVs with webOS 24 or newer, select Samsung 2020 and newer Smart TVs, and select Amazon Fire TV devices.
