About this product
A single divan bed set that gives you proper support through the night and keeps your bedroom setup straightforward. The firm orthopaedic mattress sits on a sturdy divan base with chrome feet, so you get a complete sleep solution in one parcel. Inside the mattress there's an open coil spring system with 192 springs that distributes weight evenly, while layers of soft cushioning contour to your body. The damask cover has a quilted finish that feels smooth and handles everyday use. It's a no-turn mattress, you just rotate it regularly to even out wear.
The divan base lifts the mattress off the floor and provides solid support underneath. Chrome feet keep it stable and give you space to clean beneath. After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Argos Home Elmdon Deep Ortho Double Divan Bed - Grey.
The depth should be 22cm. Mattresses aren’t perfectly flat—pillowing, quilting, and shaped edges can make the stitched sides uneven. By placing a straight pole across the top and another across the bottom, you create two completely flat reference planes. This ensures you measure the actual maximum thickness, not the lower, inconsistent edge height.
How to Measure the Depth of a Mattress.
Place one straight pole (or a long straight object) across the top surface of the mattress so that it lies flat and level.
Place a second pole underneath the mattress, directly below the top one, ensuring it is also flat and level.
Measure the vertical distance between the two poles using a tape measure.
This measurement represents the true depth of the mattress, taken from the highest point of the top surface to the lowest point of the bottom surface, not from the stitched or quilted edges.

If the label states ‘non‑turn’, the mattress is not designed to be flipped over. However, you can still rotate it so the head end becomes the foot end, which helps maintain even wear.
