Fittings disappointing
Overall the item is a good buy. Functions well as a toastier However the buttons /knobs etc are all in 'chrome' look plastic. This plastic finish creates an overall cheap and tacky feel which reduces the satisfaction achieved by the item.

To toast or not to toast
Brought for the colour and reviews. Slightly disappointed with the browning and crisping of the bread. Even with the heating controls it’s a bit hit and miss. Brought in the sale but don’t think it’s worth the full price

I have used the toaster for a couple of weeks and found it to be great the toasting settings are good and accurate browns toast just as I like it,toasts both sides of the bread the same.The toaster also looks great a modern trendy look in our kitchen. Would recommend this toaster to anyone.

A safer way than a knife or chopsticks is a pair of small wooden tongs that we attached magnetically to the side of the toaster. Its worked well for 22 years - both the tongs and the toaster!
The answer already given about pushing the lever up once toasted does not work this feature is available on other makes, but is not on this one. The previous answer is sadly misleading as I found out after purchasing. The only way to get smaller goods such as crumpets or bagels out, is by spearing with a knife or fork, or my personal favourite, a chopstick!
