Cable comes out of toaster at the front on the right hand side, which is very odd. No way of disguising it or running it under toasters to the back. Just odd and never had this on any previous toasters, cables always came out the back. Toast also does not pop up enough so difficult to remove from toaster without using a tongs

A safer way than a knife or chopsticks is a pair of small wooden tongs that we attached magnetically to the side of the toaster. Its worked well for 22 years - both the tongs and the toaster!
The answer already given about pushing the lever up once toasted does not work this feature is available on other makes, but is not on this one. The previous answer is sadly misleading as I found out after purchasing. The only way to get smaller goods such as crumpets or bagels out, is by spearing with a knife or fork, or my personal favourite, a chopstick!
