It's solid natural hardwood that handles daily use and stands up to spills, chopping and cooking. The neutral grey cupboard finish pairs with warm natural wood on the worktop and breakfast bar, giving a traditional country cottage feel that suits existing kitchen furniture. Two seats fit comfortably at the bar height surface, providing space for quick breakfasts or company while you cook.
Two drawers with metal runners glide smoothly and provide space for utensils, tea towels, or smaller kitchen essentials. Metal handles provide a sturdy grip and add to the traditional look. Open storage shelves below keep pots, pans or dry ingredients within easy reach. Solid wood legs spread the weight evenly and keep everything stable during use. Part of the Chicago collection, so it coordinates with other pieces if you're building a matching kitchen. Self-assembly required with two people recommended, all fixings included. Excellent quality
Delivery was on time and I was kept informed of when they were on their way. Product is excellent quality, very sturdy strong materials. Putting it together was straight forward, and easily done by one person. Ample space and can store heavy items on it. And multi use as a breakfast bar.

Surprisingly solid
Well designed and very solid when assembled. There were a couple of small blemishes on mine but customer support were quick to respond and very helpful. Overall, very happy with it - really practical and looks great.

Kitchen Island solid wood
This is an excellent piece of furniture for a small kitchen, adds extra storage and matched really well with my dove grey country kitchen, it is made of solid wood and is really stable and great quality when put together, which was really easy, it also gives extra seating space as the height is just right for bar stools, ideal for breakfast and lunch. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and the price was a bonus, I have added an end panel that matches my kitchen panels and it now looks like part of my kitchen.

Great features for the kitchen
I bought this before Christmas and had my eye on it. Then I saw it was selling at a cheaper price, so decided to buy and im so glad that I did as its great. Had 2 of us to put it together and I am delighted with it, as it stores several items and sit round it and use it for most things. A great buy.

Excellent value
We are really pleased with this bar island. It wasn’t too difficult to assemble and is solid and sturdy. The colour is exactly as shown online. We bought the habitat stools from Argos too and they fit perfectly underneath. We have an open plan lounge/ kitchen/dining room and this creates a perfect divider. The light colour stops it from making the space look too dark. It’s turning out to be an excellent addition to our kitchen

I bought this a few months back as my kitchen had limited storage. The draw was damaged on arrival, but customer service were great with sorting the issue. Love the island, adds enough storage for my needs, and is high quality

Absolutely Fabulous. Solid wood, beautiful finish
Bought in September 2025. I’m over the moon with this kitchen island. Wanted to go for the Swedish island from elsewhere, but limited for space, as I know the other one was huge. Well, I’m so pleased I bought this HABITAT one from Argos, it’s far superior quality compared to the Swedish one, I know, as my daughter has that one. The finish on the wooden top is beautiful, silky smooth and it’s all so well made. Fits perfectly in my kitchenette (within my lounge area) and given me a great deal more storage space. It houses all my baking dishes, food mixer and other kitchen paraphernalia, that was hard to reach in the kitchen cupboards previously. I have put a very large chopping board on it to protect the surface. It was so easy to build myself, although was concerned it weighs nearly 50kg. Even with arthritis in my hands it was a breeze and I managed to stand it up on its sturdy legs. I think I’m going to add a towel rail to the end of it. Only drawback is the sunken screws that don’t have cover caps over the top to neaten it, however after a few weeks, I don’t even notice now. The top of one of the drawer edges had a flaw, which looks like a knot fell out, but this doesn’t show as the drawer is closed. I loved the fact the drawers were already attached to the countertop. Delivery guys were great, carried it into the room it was going in, really helpful, box was upside down, but worked out great to take out fior assembly. Well packed. All in all, a fantastic buy, as I purchased on a discounted offer. Highly recommend this kitchen island. 10/10 🏆
