Came well packaged and was delivered on time. Took over 2 hours to put it together. Once assembled it is very sturdy. Has really helped with the lack of storage in my kitchen. Love it.

Kitchen Island solid wood
This is an excellent piece of furniture for a small kitchen, adds extra storage and matched really well with my dove grey country kitchen, it is made of solid wood and is really stable and great quality when put together, which was really easy, it also gives extra seating space as the height is just right for bar stools, ideal for breakfast and lunch. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and the price was a bonus, I have added an end panel that matches my kitchen panels and it now looks like part of my kitchen.

Great features for the kitchen
I bought this before Christmas and had my eye on it. Then I saw it was selling at a cheaper price, so decided to buy and im so glad that I did as its great. Had 2 of us to put it together and I am delighted with it, as it stores several items and sit round it and use it for most things. A great buy.

Excellent value
We are really pleased with this bar island. It wasn’t too difficult to assemble and is solid and sturdy. The colour is exactly as shown online. We bought the habitat stools from Argos too and they fit perfectly underneath. We have an open plan lounge/ kitchen/dining room and this creates a perfect divider. The light colour stops it from making the space look too dark. It’s turning out to be an excellent addition to our kitchen

I bought this a few months back as my kitchen had limited storage. The draw was damaged on arrival, but customer service were great with sorting the issue. Love the island, adds enough storage for my needs, and is high quality

Absolutely Fabulous. Solid wood, beautiful finish
Bought in September 2025. I’m over the moon with this kitchen island. Wanted to go for the Swedish island from elsewhere, but limited for space, as I know the other one was huge. Well, I’m so pleased I bought this HABITAT one from Argos, it’s far superior quality compared to the Swedish one, I know, as my daughter has that one. The finish on the wooden top is beautiful, silky smooth and it’s all so well made. Fits perfectly in my kitchenette (within my lounge area) and given me a great deal more storage space. It houses all my baking dishes, food mixer and other kitchen paraphernalia, that was hard to reach in the kitchen cupboards previously. I have put a very large chopping board on it to protect the surface. It was so easy to build myself, although was concerned it weighs nearly 50kg. Even with arthritis in my hands it was a breeze and I managed to stand it up on its sturdy legs. I think I’m going to add a towel rail to the end of it. Only drawback is the sunken screws that don’t have cover caps over the top to neaten it, however after a few weeks, I don’t even notice now. The top of one of the drawer edges had a flaw, which looks like a knot fell out, but this doesn’t show as the drawer is closed. I loved the fact the drawers were already attached to the countertop. Delivery guys were great, carried it into the room it was going in, really helpful, box was upside down, but worked out great to take out fior assembly. Well packed. All in all, a fantastic buy, as I purchased on a discounted offer. Highly recommend this kitchen island. 10/10 🏆

Lovely addition to my kitchen diner
I had been looking for a breakfast bar for a few months but couldn't find 'the right one' & gave up searching. By chance when looking on the Argos site a few weeks later, I saw this Chicago island & it was just what I had been looking for. It is perfect in every way, fits perfectly, useful drawers, shelves, but most of all it is the colour. Rich cream looks good with the light wood. Very solid, well made & didn't take long to put together. I can't believe the quality of the product at the price I paid, it was over £500 cheaper than an almost identical one I had seen & rejected in white. There's nothing to fault the Chicago. It looks fantastic, solid wood & beautiful colour adds to its style & appearance. So pleased I found it & at the price it really is a steal. Delivered in two days which was fast!!
